funny how they can get a 6-11 backup C w/career averages below 6 & 6 for a veteran's minimum type deal, but they spent 5 years @ $30 mil for a 7-2 backup C w/career averages below 6 & 6 a year ago... i guess those extra 3 inches is worth the extra loot in Isiah's world.

It's called supply and demand...

Keon Clark is sitting on the money he earned in the NBA and is currently chillin. Can't blame him.

It would be just like the Knicks to sign a lazy drug addict bum like Keon Clark. And it would also be just like the Knicks to sit around and do nothing while another team digs up a bargain-basement diamond in the rough like Keon Clark.

Does it really matter...he's filling the 15th spot. The man will hardly get any time on the court.

When LB asked for more defensive minded players Isiah told him to win with what he had.

When Isiah becomes coach he adds not 1, not 2, not 3 but 4 defensive minded players. In fact those are the only new players he brought in.

Funny how that works.

It's probably very likely that Isiah never planned on adding defensive players. He only decided that defensive players were worthwhile the moment after LB was fired. Bad Boys?

Furthermore, it only makes sense that he remakes an entire team before a coaches first season is over. All good GM's turn over a nearly entirely new team during the course of the regular season. Happens all the time.

Come on, do you actually believe that? No offense, but do you realize how ridiculous that sounds? He only realized defense was the way to go when it was HIS job on the line? Well, when I put it that way.....

One way or another it is a serious indictment on his abilities as a full time GM.

Kind of make you wonder why LB wanted Francis and JRose doesn't it...

I believe that Isiah would've looked to add the more defensive minded players if LB was still here, but LB acted like and ass and wanted out so bad that he basically fired himself. Isiah simply did what he was going to do anyway. All that time when LB was working out players and giving his opinion Isiah was listening and if LB had agreed to Dolan's demands to shut up and stay on, he'd have those players to coach. He didn't and now Isiah does.

Don't worry buddy. The whole things was sarcastic. To suggest that Isiah was not going to make moves to improve the team defensively is patently absurd. That is the point I was making.

I think many of us around here forget that Isiah was the best player and captain of the best defensive team in the past 30 years. I am not saying IT was the best defensive player (Some say Rodaman, I say Dumars was hands down.), but he weren't no slouch.

And when Isiah won an NCAA championship, he did it with Bobby Knight, and that team played D too.

I am not saying IT is a nice guy, no, much like LB he is reputed to be a huge jerk. But he was a hard-nosed, no-nonsense player. He held himself to unbelievable standards. I once read an article that described him popping awake at night then practicing by himself until daylight. I read stuff about him tearing into teammates who slacked, and we have all seen what he did to his opponents.

The man is a fierce competitor. I don't see him giving any quarter if he can help it.

Ok. So when LB coaches and he wants Defense, he got to deal wih what he got. But when Isiah needs defense to save his job he can go out and get 4 defensive role players?

Remember a post ago when you told me that a GM remaking an entire team in one season is ridiculous? Like Nixluva wrote, if LB hadn't forced himself out, he would have had these improved defensive players. Only, since he personally did not like so many of the players, he probably would have carried on his sabotage until he had Eric Snow and Ratliff!

I'm outraged myself that Isiah didn't use the midseason draft and midseason free agent pool to get LB defensive help. No, he had to wait for the *summer* draft and the *summer* free agent pool. Really shows you how two-faced the guy is. And he didn't do LB any favors by getting scrappy, hard-nosed players like David Lee and Nate Robinson the summer before LB arrived either.
