No way this makes any sense. It just pisses me off more and more that we go for Jerome James, then make another risky move for Eddy Curry, give up 2 picks for him, then claim that having Jackie is like having a lottery pick, then we lose him for nothing b/c of the 2 bonehead moves, instead of remaining a little patient. This team just does not think ahead one bit.
Who the hell said that Jackie Butler was like having a lottery pick????

I like JB as a player, but the simple fact is that if the Knicks signed him, we would have 15 guaranteed contracts with no ability to add another player. Why lock yourself into paying 14 million (luxury tax penalty) for a third string center, when you have two centers ahead of him that you are committed to for at least 4 more years, and you can add a guy like Miller, who has some skills, for 1/4 what you would have to pay JB. In hindsight, we definitely should not have signed JJ, but given the circumstances of the team now, letting JB go was the best move for the Knicks and JB.

I liked Butler alot but he isn't a make it or break it player for this season. I do wish the Knicks had kept him though but I don't think it's a Bonehead or terrible move not to have him on the team.
