What makes Marbury a better player than Marcus Williams is that he is unstoppable on the pick and roll and a better passed, quicker, faster, better conditioned. If you think that Marcus Williams is a better prospect than Marbury was coming out, or is a better player now - I'm sorry, that's just not true. Marbury came in and averaged 18ppg 9apg right off the bat as a 19yr old rookie. Please, it's embarassing to put Marcus in the same league as Marbury. Marbury's rookie season was on a par with Chris Paul's.

No doubt about Marbury's rookie season, he was outstanding and he still puts up great stats. I just don't think Marbury is a PG, yes he may rack up the assists but he doesn't control a flow like other PGs do. Marbury brings the ball up, dribbles around makes a pass or drives, thats it. What makes other (more true) PGs better like Kidd and Nash is that they are constantly in motion and not just dribbling, just MO. Thats where I think Marcus differs from Marbury.

If Marbury were 3-4 inches taller, we would probably be talking about the 2nd coming of Michael Jordan becuase he's got that kind of talent and that kind of scoring ability but he's not a PG.

When Marbury first got to NY he put up some amazing numbers and ran the team quite well - look at his numbers for his half season in NY - 20ppg, 9.5apg and he took a ramshackle team to the playoffs. I will say that he needs the right coach and I think Lenny was a perfect coach for him. I think the biggest mistake Zeke has made was to fire Lenny and then to hire Larry. But, I also think Zeke will design an offense that Steph can run to perfection and takeover when need be.

Steph CAN run a team - he ran the Suns perfectly in 02-03, ran the Knicks great while Lenny was here, ran the Twolves great. He is high maintanence and I understand that turns people off, but he is a fantastic talent. Honestly, as far as PGs go I think there's Nash, Kidd and maybe now Chris Paul and then there's Marbury.
