WHy does everything always have to be about stats?

If you are talking about Williams, it not just about stats.

You've brought up character and defense quite a bit in this forum in the recent past haven't you? Well that's 2 strikes against M Williams.

He's not much of a shooter, strike 3. He's fat and in poor condition, strike 4?

Like I said before. M Williams is about the equivalent of Rick Brunson.

oohah

Your right that's fine but Isiah needs trade chips to pair up with these huge salaries. Having someone like Marcus Williams who could field the Knicks a pick in next years draft just like Telfair was obtained for the 7th pick. I think Williams would have served the Knicks greater value just by having him as a trade chip to pair up with one of these bloated contracts the Knicks have.

Like I said before, the fact that Thorn chose Williams tells me the red-flags aren't serious becuase if they were Thorn wouldn't have drafted him. Thorn has always stayed away from guys with serious red-flags becuase he knows it's not worth the risk of getting burned.

Thorn has Jason Kidd. Marcus is a back up on the nets.

We needed players that fit our needs for a solid defensive team. We didn't need another trade chip for some undetermined trade that might never happen. These guys he took are safe picks like last year. Solid players that will be able to contribute from day one. Isiah has been taking guys with decent college experience and solid programs. We complained that this team had to many me 1st players, well not anymore. Isiah has been adding team oriented players in each of the last 2 drafts. Just give it time and you will see that Isiah made the right decisions.

I thought we had our defensive 3/4 with David Lee. This is redundant of Isiah just like everything else. This guy is 6'6, that might fly in college but in the NBA he's going to be playing SF and he's going to be giving up 4 inches nightly against other opposing SF's and PF's. Nothing Isiah does surprises me anymore, whatever we have the most of, he'll get more of.

That is valid. But rather than choose a player to get another player who may or may not be available, I think filling a need is a good idea. I like the style of player Balkman is, but who knows how good he will be in the NBA, or how good any of these guys will be?

I don't think Williams is a bad player, but he is limited at the NBA level. I think that is why he dropped to 22, not because he is a thief or any other character issues. Thorn needed a PG so he got the best natural PG available. Williams is in a good spot with the Nets, all he needs to do is the thing he does best: Dish out assists. The rest of his game is suspect, but he will learn from Kidd and the crafty Vaughn.

Now if he went to the Knicks things probably would have been disastrous for him, so he lucked out by being chosen to play for the Nets.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

we have a glut of undersized SGs. Rose will be gone and Q will ride the pine. Lee can now be the backup PF. assuming Balkman even cracks the rotation he should be fine at SF with his athletism, 7'1 wingspan and rebounding ability.

What do mean my point??? He has a defensive minded Perimeter with RJ and Kidd, a team that thinks they are in the running for a title and a superStar point Guard. YOu can't compare what he thinks of MW, because all he needed was a backup and he really didn't care if they couldn't do anything but run the point when Kidd needs a blow.

Again, I've never seen Balkman dribble a basketball but there were other 2guards available that play defense. Is anyone aware of the availability of picks 14/16, where Brewer or Carney could have been had?
Sh-t in the popcorn to go with sh-t on the court. Its a theme show like Medieval times.

Metra - realistic?

How about making up one's mind on a player AFTER seeing him play and not before?

Certainly, its Summer League but basketball is basketball.

have you watched Balkman... and if so, what are your impressions?

i want the fckn knicks TO LOSE every possible game---im going into LOSE mode I DO NOT want my team to win we are lead by an arsehole owner who has no clue and if you haventb figured it out an ego driven person who plays to his own fiddle he sfcked up at every stop post basketball and the ONLY way for him to get the fck out is to watch my team lose fck you kermit the frog get out of NY

I'll say one thing. It seems like through the years, the owner, the GM's, the Coaches, the players and the fans have been having some real 'timing' issues. Always too late or too early. Never just right! I think my body would go into shock if that happened!
I'll never trust this' team again.
