nah, it was dangerous going in - Marbury and Brown had already clashed, Jamal seemed like a text book anti-Larry player, as did Tim Thomas, as did Curry. It was clear a lot of the team's juice was going to come from the rookies and Ariza and Brown hates to play kids. It was a bad idea. Zeke was trying to save his own hide and it backfired. Oddly, it backfired so spectacularly and Brown looked so bad last year that Zeke probably saved his job... at least for another year.
But now Zeke has no credibility to hire another coach, so he has to do it himself. Has to. There really isn't another option here. If it works, fine, great. If it doesn't, fire Zeke and call Jerry Colangelo. If someone could buy the Knicks from Dolan while we're at it, then we could really talk about building a team.
