Don't forget Brown wants Ratliff who also has a big contract, constantly hurt and is on the downside of his career...Listen, Brown is not a personnel guy..Now is not the time to see if he can wing it....

I don't know who the right frontcourt guy is or isn't for us, but we seriously need to move out some of our gluts for our deficiencies and get the poison out of the clubhouse. the status quo is not a solution.

which is why all the BS about not wanting to move 1/2 the roster is well, BS. steph, franics, mo, jalen, and jerome. i think all of them will be gone within a year or so whether lb is here or not. so when they do fire him (if?), just say it was b/c of insubordination and not any other BS excuse.

We know at least Mo and Jalen WILL be gone next year, and at least one of Steph and Francis should be. And james is just a massive paper weight.

The irony will be if brown gets canned and Isiah utilizes his list of desired players to shape the team just the same.

pure speculation but do you think that curry was the sticking point? those comments out of the blue that curry was the "franchise" or "cornerstone" player sor of came out of nowhere. lb then saying that he doesn't think curry would ever be the defensive rebounding type of center. and of course lb telling isiah the team needs a pg and a defensive center. so seeing the price isiah paid for curry, could he be considered a deal breaker between lb and isiah?

Trust me, Isiah will have no use for that list of players...Only Brown can thrive with that list, no one else seems to be doing well with the players he seeks...

No but everyone agreed that the roster was upgraded in terms of talent, younger and more athletic...Larry took that promise to 23 wins...So it has to be Isiah and Dolans fault...

Interesting.

When Larry spoke of curry being the franchise I took it as a prod to motivate him. But earlier in the season Larry did say when he signed on and envisioned the rotations it was with Sweets and TT in the mix.

I gotta figure Larry would have given the go ahead for Curry because he uses him just like he did Rik Smits. Establish him early in the game, use him to spread the defense for you guards, go with him until he tires or it just isn't working. Smits on his bad retirement causing feet was just like Curry. Some offense, no D, and good for 20 something minutes per game.

The problem was Curry was not ready at all. His post game is very very raw. He can't shoot, his jump hooks aren't consistant, can't put the ball on the floor, can't pass out of the post. Which was my complaint with trying to run the offense through Curry. He doesn't open anything up for anybody. That was the difference when we won 6 games in a row. With the guards taking the pressure off of Curry he would then cause havoc inside forcing now defense would have to worry about Marbury-Crawford & Curry. By running the offense through Curry defenses only had to worry about Curry and not Marbury & Crawford. Practice should have been the only time we worked on Curry running the offense.

Other than that he's doing great though, right?

Hes great at grabbing an offensive rebound for a put back or tip in after the guards break the defense down and he slides in position. He is also is someone you could dump the ball to after you break the defense down so he could get a dunk for fouled or both. He also is great at getting an alley-oop from Crawford.

As of right now Curry is a role player. The thing about him is he is 22 and has a lot of time & potential to expand his game if he keeps working at it.

Nope. Not everyone. There was a large contingent that looked at the make up of the team as opposed to the names that GM's keeps parading in front of us and fooling many into thinking we will be better becasue of said names. Noone thought we would only win 23 games. But there was a pretty large contingent that did not understand the moves that were being made and predicted we would win between 32-38 games just like we did the year's before.

I see you weren't hear last Summer. Pretty much everyone was saying how the roster sucked, and you could only imagine what it was like once we signed Jerome. Then most people on the site went Apecrap for Curry (Not me though!) but I found that he was being highly overrated by most of the NY fans and the NY management. That was one of the worst trades we've made, yet.

Actually Islesfan thought we would win 23. Pretty much everyone else was calling for 32-35. There were a few in the 35-40 range. Then there were the crazy's who thought we would become Phoenix East after Larry was hired. I tried to warn them............

Reality:

Rookies were better than we thought, and Vets were worse.

Hating media were right on with Marbs Vs. Larry.

Question authority. Knicks in charge lie.
