We need a sharp shooter role player.

Garrity would be a decent addition in that regard.

I kind of agree. If we really can get Garnett, I'm not so crazy about adding Francis. I guess it would be okay if all we had to give up were Mo T, Ariza, and Crawford though. Francis is better in all phases of the game than Crawford.

Francis is better than Crawford, no doubt, but he is a near clone of Marbs! Lets bring in Baron Davis and run all three! They can wrestle for the ball like 10 year old CYA teams do!

I really can't figure this out. Francis is a big talent, but lets think of chemistry? 30mil for a back court? Thats nuts!

I have no idea how Francis would work with Marbury, but for that bargain basement price, its worth using this half season to expirement with it, b/c we're going no where right now anyway. If its a disaster, you try to cut your losses by dealing one in the offseason.

That's probably how Isiah's looking at it

Has anyone watched KG this year? He's pretty much cooked as an elite player. I wouldn't be shocked if there was SOME truth to this. We wouldn't win anything with KG and we'd have the most ridiculous salary cap situation ever, sounds like a NYK kinda trade to me.
He sucked last night versus WASHINGTON - flat out sucked like a first rate scrub.

the one thing i will say about kg is that he never had that go to move at the end of games to just take over and win. i love kg and he's definitely a top 5 nba player but it's the one thing that seperates him from ewing. ewing would demand the ball and take over games. kg is not like that. but with steph, francis, and curry, that's actually a GOOD thing.

i'd say KG is top 10 or 15, not top 5:

1. LeBron
2. Kobe
3. Dwade
4. Duncan
5. Shaq
6. Dwight Howard
7. Artest
8. Bosh
9. Carmelo
10. KG
11. Ben Wallace
12. Vince Carter
13. T-mac
14. Chris Paul
15. Steve Nash-ty

I wouldn't put Dwight Howard, Artest, Bosh, Carmelo ahead of KG right now. Maybe a few years from now I would. I've posted before that I think *right now* KG is better than Duncan and Shaq and simply has drastically inferior teammates, but I could definitely understand the opinions of people who put Duncan and Shaq ahead of him. I also don't rank Kobe nearly as high as most people do because I don't think the way he plays the game is conducive to good team basketball. I definitely don't mind seeing Lebron and Wade ahead of KG though.

I think this trade is gonna hash out to be something like:

Penny, Channing, MRose or QRich, and the 2 first round picks for KG, Jaric, and Eddie Griffin.

It works on realgm....

Someone do some photo editing and make a picutre of Marbury, Garnett, and Francis standing together in Knick jerseys! I don't know how to do that, but it would fit the spirit of this thread beautifully!

KG might better than Frye will ever become, but he has a lot higher salary today.

While it might look good on paper, a line up of Marbury, Francis, Rose, Garnett & Curry reminds me an aweful lot of Miami's line up this year and the Lakers line up when Detroit crushed them in finals.

Granted, both Francis and Garnett are younger & better than Karl & Payton were on the lakers- But does take Wade off the Miami team and I'm not sure they do anything but eek in as an 8 seed this year- you just can't throw these players together and expect things to work.

Now, as long as Garnett is only costing us Frye, and you've still got Lee & Nate, I won't kill the trade- its a gamble- but how many of isiah's gambles have worked out?

We're not talking NBA Live, Bonn. In real life he had 15pts and 11rebs.

There's no way KG is top five anymore. He also left out Kirilenko and Dirk.

I'd say:

1) Kobe
2) Duncan
3) Nash
4) Lebron
5) Wade (also Amare will be top five if healthy)
6) Dirk
7) Marion
8) AK47
9) KG
10)Shaq
11)Pierce
12)Iverson
13)Artest
14)Bosh
15)Tmac

IF this thing happens-KG has, for the first time, another low post threat alongside him in Curry and then occasionally (maybe very occasionally) the ball comes out to Stevie or Marbs. We don't even need a fifth guy out there
