this trade is a no brainer because it accomplishe 2 things:

1. Jalen fills a need at the 3, is a scorer, shooter, and ball handler and will make us better, period, whihc in tunr insures that we don't give up the #1 pick to the bulls.

2. We get another #1 which Isiah will almost certainly turn into a good if not great player.

That would give us Curry plus five 1st rd picks in a 2 year period and would make the claim that Isiah has no patience purely fictional.

That's the most frequently reported version of the deal but no one knows the details of the deal because the deal didn't happen yet

Isiah asked for a pick. If Babcock was ready to deal the pick, Rose would be a Knick as we speak.

Maybe but I doubt it. Even if the offer were Jalen and Denver's #1, I'd have waited it out to see if I could get something better. Isiah may have been doing that for a while now. That deal would mean a net increase of $34 mil in expenses for about the 19th pick in the draft and 1.5 years out of Jalen. That's better value than getting nothing for an expiring contract (since the team is not trying to get under the cap) but it's not the wonderful deal you make it sound like.

This could be someone trying to spark some leverage in another trade that no one is talking about. You know how it is. They leak info to the media just to see if the teams will stop dragging their feet.

I was thinking that too. Isiah could be trying to get the Wolves to call and say "Before you use up your expiring contracts on the Rose deal, we've re-thought your Wally proposal." Or Isiah might have some other deal with another GM in mind.

how about penny expires and we just keep letting the kids play with no regard to this season?

This team with Marbs is not dead in the water, they can compete on most nights.

There are many many instinces where team chemistry comes together and the young players get better and better.

While I could care less about Dolans money, I believe Allan, AD and Penny all come off the books.

That does not help us get players, but I can't help think that Rose is gonna turn us around and adding that kind of salary without getting a great player is just not worth it. At some point we gotta pay down the credit card!

Turning Penny into Rose isn't that bad- granted, its one more year of max type money- but rose can play, and probably would contribute next year as well.

Personally, for that kind of relief, I'd ask for to give me whichever pick is better- Denver's or theirs. We're not talking chump change and I truly doubt they can find someone to relieve them of that salary.

I wouldn't trade both Penny & Ad's salary unless its a no brainer like a garnett/wally salary dump- that's obviously not happening

I think I'd rather have Jalen then Wally, Shorter contract, more versatile....

Think LB would stick Jalen at the 2?

James-Frye/AD-Q-Craw-Nate
