My comment referred to what happened after the trade. What matters when trying to assess a trade is what will happen in the future, not the past. He basically became an injury prone 10 PPG player. I know you like KVH and I can respect that. But objectively, I don't think you can look at what unfolded after the trade and say the Knicks lost out on (or acquired) anything important. |

That team that we had would've done better than gotten swept in the first round had we not made the trade. Was it a difference between a championship or not? No, of course not. But we had a special chemistry with that team and it was a shame we never got to see it blossom. But what's done is done. As for career, his role was reduced after that. I think he was still arguably a starting talent at the time he joined Dallas. He was 6th man because he was on a very very deep Dallas team. He was more than capable of continuing to play well after that, and he left for family reasons. You cannot say the same for Tim Thomas. Tim Thomas was an atrocious, knucklehead team killer. He was a great athlete and could shoot, but that was it. That's all there is to it. Say what you want, but the Knicks did not do well in that trade. I was one of the few who said it at the time and I was right. Now is it as bad as some of the other terrible trades we made during the Isiah era? No, but there is something to be said about a team that peaked nearing .500 before trading away a core of the team that got them there and peaked with a 39 win season. Would the Isiah years have been more tolerable if the Knicks didn't get swept in their one playoff appearance? I think so. If you want to talk objectively, why not stop hating 8 years later and just let it go? Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

![]() TT entertained us with that whole immortal 'fugazi' rant in which he bizarrely accused Kmart of everything that TT himself was guilty of. Also his nickname of 'Tiny Tim' ranked alongside Channing Fryes 'Charmin', as my favourite of that era.
