Bringing in Williams to be the full time PG is going to take the ball out of Wade's hands a lot of the time, which I'm not sure is a good thing. It also remains to be seen how well Williams' freeflowing game can translate to structured halfcourt sets.
I think it is a good move to let Wade play 2 guard in general, because I think that is his natural position. If it doesn't work out with Jason Williams (Back in his old college state!) They can always move Wade back or get another point guard. I think Williams will be pretty good.
Now to address the pure unabashed Walker hating...And of course, the Heat are going to be worse for every shot attempt that Walker takes, since he's such a low efficiency player coming onto such a high efficiency offense.
Hmmm, Posey shoots .419 on his career to Walker's .415. Williams shoots .390. But Walker will be the one dragging down the offense...

Even Walker's playmaking skills are diminished here, since Shaq, Wade, and Williams are probably all better playmakers.
One could make a case that Wade or Williams are better playmakers than Walker, but Shaq? COME_ON! Walker averages at the top of assists for his position every year and he is an excellent passer.
On the other side of the ball, Walker is among the very worst defensive forwards in the league (don't know about JWill's D).
Jason Williams is not a good defensive player at all. Posey is decent but he picks up a lot of fouls (2.7 per 28 minutes career average.). The Heat are definitely worse on D than they were last year. Eddie Jones is one of the few players that can actually hang his hat on his defensive game.
Posey might actually wind up being the Heat's best pickup in this trade. He can defend, and only a season or so ago was putting up red hot offensive numbers for the Grizz. At worst, he should still be an adequate stand-in for Eddie Jones.
Posey will be an excellent stand in for Eddie Jones and a very nice backup for Walker. If he ends up being the best pickup, then Walker must be injured.
Antoine Walker Career averages:

Posey's best year is almost as good as AW's worst:

Others say Udonis Haslem will start in front of Walker,...sure he will. Actually AW will be playing behind Haslem and Ike Austin.

Tomverve, I am really intrigued at what your beef is with Walker.
I like Posey too. I think he is better than Stromile Swift and Sweetney, both of whom you have tried to offer as better than Walker for the Knicks' purposes, but I think it is obvious that not only is Posey not going to start in front of Walker, but that Posey was brought in to be a bench player.
Walker is the biggest free agent signing outside of Shaq this summer, and he is getting paid that way too. He has gotten wins, recognition, and the money marquee players get throughout his career. All the media, players, coaches, and GM's seem to realize he is the centerpiece of "THE TRADE". But you will not recgnize anything Walker does as good, or that there is anything good about his game. I wonder...are you a Louisville fan?
if you can't appreciate what riles has done in the off-season stop following basketball and try your excitement factor at formula 1 racing.
That is the truth!
it just dont get better than this in the off-season.
I don't know, how about Riley landing Shaq last year?
pat riley is one of the true class acts ever to grace the nba.
I don't agree with that. I find Riley to be one of the most disingenuous a-holes I have ever seen.
I will give Riley his props, though I can't stand him, between getting Odom and Butler, drafting Wade, trading for Shaq, and now this trade? Damn.
his ability to go jugular for trades reserved for fantasy leagues leaves no doubt in the prize miami is trying to claim......
True Dat.
