Nobody really seemed to mention it yet, but I love the fact that they're playing Lee at SF. If he can add a jumpshot to his arsenal, that kid is gonna be a dangerous player...

But my question to that is, will he be able to guard fowards who like to play off the dribble. Some small forwards like to play on the perimeter. I'm interested in seeing can he guard off the dribble and/or perimeter oriented small fowards.

How Lee will do at SF will be one of the more interesting stories of the summer and preseason. It's no surprise he's doing well in the summer league, as he did really well at Chicago and that was basically a similar level of competition.

speaking of green, in a guard oriented SL he is not really tearing it up, had a less then stellar game, something like 9 points and 3 boards, something like that... Yawn.....

that would be key. we need a stopper on the perimeter in the worst way. Haven't had pne since spree and childs

Lee will be fine b/c of his athleticism and hustle. While I agree a player like D Miles might present a problem b/c of their quickness, that's the point of having a defensive oriented Center in the paint....to cover up perimeter boo-boos.

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Well, the draftexpress.com article said Lee played "tough, sometimes dirty defense." So his D has apparently been pretty good so far.

13pts 5-8FG in only 19mins...pretty good. He's been shooting consistently well as I expected

come on man, the SL is a guard oriented game, we are talking about a guy most projected as a top 5 pick, please, 13 points, heck trevor ariza is doing that on a very bad day, martell Webster dropped a cool 21 on the knicks, nate robinson can fart and get 13 points, the point being is that people are getting on frye and he got 16/11 green who most of us on here proclaimed as the Golden child is just getting by and that is cool. He should be killing it in this league, especially the SL a guard oriented league? whats up?

I just got word that Frye came to this site at halftime and read Briggs post calling him a bust. This is why he dropped 10 and 6 in the second half commiting only one foul. This site is the greatest!!!

The SL favors players who can get their own shot.

I can't say I'm mad thus far. Seems like Frye may be figuring some things out. Hopefully his second half of this game carries over. Right now he's roughly averaging 12 and 6 in about 25 minutes. Not bad so far. But I do expect a lot of improvment over the offseason into training camp and then over his rookie season.

I think that he is much more than even the Knicks management thought he was--it would be a crime to only let him play as a * tempo* player because he is a serious PG

Also, props to le, im eating crow on Lee, he has been very good. hey maybe he comes in and OUTPLAYS guys like jYD malik etc... we'll have to see.

Nahh, let's give Isiah the full credit for drafting Nate. Lot's of other GM's had opportunities to pick him up and Isiah went for him over lot's of other players (including bigs). Also, you need to put a little Lee ketchup on that crow burger you eating. Give Isiah the full credit on that selection too.

Interesting. If he can develop at least a mid-range game, he could be tougher version of Austin Crosher (in his first season!). It would be smart for Lee to improve his outside game.

You know I'm usually fast to overreact on things, but this Frye argument with every side foaming at their mouth from one HALF to another is too much even for me.

What's gonna happen during the regular season? Is it gonna be a play by play Frye is the greatest - Frye is a bust?

At least lets do on a game by game basis, how bout that?

So that said, 16 11, finally a good game. He did have 10 fauls, but doesn nobody notice how TERRIBLE the refs have been in the summer? Anybody who has wached the televised games saw that NY had 58, yes 58 ft's or somethign like that in a game, and another team had like 36. That is 94 freakin ft's in a game.

Now I personally hated they Frye pick, this faul argument seems to be completley overlookin the overall statistics of the league. I bet if we started compilin faul stats on average, we would see that most playefs get 3-4 fauls more then in an actual NBA game.

Great to see that Frye was able to adjust in the 2nd half and only picked up 1 faul while scoring and rebounding.

11 breds is what I care about most personally here.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

Frye will be fine...It aint how you start that matters, it is how you finish. He will have a chance to work with an old pro (Agwire), and it will show. It always takes bigs much longer to adjust than small cats...Frye is trying not to disappoint, because he knows how N.Y. fans can be... He needs to play as many basketball games as possible to get aclimate to the NBA style of basketball. Let him play all of the other games from start to finish, and gradually improvements will happen for the kid...

Man, some of you guys are funny. I realize there are some logical guys here who are actually willing to wait on Frye. What had the impatient guys been saying? Let Frye play through the fouls so he can stay on the court. What does he do? Play through the fouls in the first half, gets in a rhythm in the second half. 16pts 11reb. If Bynum had that game, we'd be hearing how the Knicks franchise was going to implode. I guarantee NO ONE would be asking what moment of the game he got his rebounds. I'm sorry but that is the most ridiculous case of sour grapes I have ever seen. This is still just practice, and unfortunately it seems like Frye is putting a lot of pressure on himself - let's hope he's never seen this site!

Me? I'm thrilled that the Knicks have possibly the best young team at SL. Nate, Lee, Frye, Ariza, shoot even Jackie is playing really well. I wish we could see this team fill up the Garden right now.

Guys need to look at what we've got. A Summer League team with five real young athletic players who might impact our rotation next season.

Also - Nate is the steal of the draft. I'm expecting a Ben Gordon type season from him off the bench. And we're going to hear A LOT more about Marbury being traded the first time Nate scores 20 in the Garden.
