[quote]ummer League or not, lets not make excuses for Frye, hes telling everyone he is not soft and his first game he makes a statment 3 rebounds in 30 minutes. Im all for the first game excuse after 4 years of high caliber CBB, but Channing go stick your F neck in there and get 7-8 rebounds please. I know some people will pooh pooh this, but this is an experienced 6-11 guy, why is 5-8 nate robinson outrebounding him?

my thoughts exactly

oh baby you're going to hear from me all year long about how big a mistake we made taking Frye so high!

I really don't think you're alone here. Even though I wasn't a huge fan of the pick, I'm reserving judgement until it really matters. Some of y'all, who I generally respect, have a real flair for the dramatic with your posts and statements, as if making strong definitive statements about whatever is going to make one look smart. Every showing in one game turns into the be all-say all of a player's entire career. Saying that those who are commenting negatively about Frye are those that hated the pick and are likely displaying some bias here would be a gross understatement. Certainly, Frye's rebounding numbers, and shooting percentage were not good, and Nate & Ariza apparently played well but I seem to recall a certain Knick years ago lighting up summer league after being drafter...

We can say whatever we want. 1st game he'll be fine and I respect that and I agree as well. That being said, you come into your first SL game--after talking how you arent soft, and you go out and get 3 rebounds in 30 minutes and you are outrebounded by your 5-8 PG.
Even though its the first game, you dont let it pass if you are the Knicks coaching staff. It doesnt matter if this is the funky fun bunch league, or MTV jock n rock game, go get rebounds. That would be my only remark to him tomorrow, channing forget about shooting, get me 15 rebounds, the points will come much easier. Concentrate all your efforts on getting rebounds.

I can se the post tomoorow Frye flops isiah thomas lottery pick, who he purports is a better talent than Andrew Bogut, was outrebounded by their 5-8 PG 5-3 in a loss to Prtland.

well lets give him the benefit of the doubt, I have seen plenty of games where shaq, duncan only get single digit rebounds, but they usually create space and opportunities by boxing out, taking up space and getting their hands on balls so their teamates can get rebounds... who knows...

Forgive me for saying this, but most wanna be fans are all bitches. They cry like bitches about everything. They are never satisfied....I remember the days when some of you used to criticize Ewing. Grow up. The cat is already here, let's support him.

You'll be in here next year with a different game plan, as usual. I remember when you were swinging from Lampe's nutsack.
What happened? You fell, dawg?

New York gave a lottery pick and their starting center away for nothing but some broken bones.

I remember you swinging on McDyess nutsack too. What happened? You fell, dawg?

no one should say frye scks, that crazy. hes going to bounce back and have some nice games, but they have to mandate to him that he sticks his nose in there more for rebounds.

Im saying this not because its agme 1, its because this is Channing's big problem, inconsistent intensity. I laid out where he rebounded the ball 5 times or less 13 games this year, he seems to show up every other game--hopefully the Knicks work on this with him, he has to attack the basketball--what he did in college was let the rebound come to him--because hes 6-10 hes going to get rebounds or SHOULD, but with more effort and consitency with toughness, he should be pulling down 7+ EVERy game--the Knicks NEEd him too!

let's not get carried away here. It's obvious Frye is not a starting center in the NBA.

We'll root for him. We'll root for the team but common sense tells you that Gerald green is going to be special
