I can see that Kwame is your preference, but how do you feel about Steven Hunter...????

Why is it that New Yorkers are always interested in garbage players???? Kwame can play one on one D and block shots (125 BS in 5423 minutes played) is that good enough for you??? Have you ever watched Kwame played?????

Besides, one of the reason why most didn't like Kurt is because he can't help improve team D, he was more of a one on one defender...why must we settle for Kwame who is less of the player that Kurt was and can't shoot the ball as well as Kurt could??

I wonder have you seen Kwame play or are you just looking at stats?

Please give me a break. We are comparing Kwame to Sweetney not Kurt and Kwame. You fail to address again that Sweetney defense is not better than Kwame or Sweetney's lack of defense and ability to stay on the floor because of cheap fouls. Kwame is garbage? And I guess you think Sweetney is an Allstar? Kwame has been on the same team since he has been in the NBA. It is time for a change. I feel the Knicks would be good for him.

I like Hunter alot. He is a player the Knicks can get cheap. I think with the players that Isiah has just acquired he would be good. Frye and Hunter would be good. Hunter really gaves pfs a hard time. He has played good against Duncan and Garnett. The problems has been with Hunter is, he has not really had a chance to really get big minutes in this league. When I was watching the Suns vs the Spurs this year I always wondered why didn't the Sun put Hunter on Duncan more. If we had Hunter and let's say Frye at the 4 it would be difficult for our opponents to score down the lane.

just getting Hunter won't cut it, trust me. Now Kwame, Frye & Hunter(as backup athletic 2nd unit center) is very intriging

Agreed.

And remember where Isiah is coming from - McCLoskey and Daly built those championship teams with multiple redwoods - Mahorn, Laimbeer, Salley, Edwards, Rodman. The Spurs and Pistons have used this approach extremely effectively the last several years too, no? Wonder where Dumars got the idea as well.

Kwame Brown is no saint. He's not a perfect player-- he now has a reputation for immaturity, and his numbers have been merely solid, not great. This is good in the sense that his value is currently relatively low-- it's the perfect time to pounce on him and hope that you can nurture the talent out of him.

If he was averaging 13ppg/10rpg and was a good team guy, the Wizards certainly wouldn't put putting him on the block-- he'd likely be getting a max contract extension!

He's a bit of a project... but Isiah had success w/ Jermaine O'Neal, and you can bet he feels that with a little nurturing, he can bring out the best in Brown. (as a reminder--- In his first year in Indy (5th season in the NBA), O'Neal averaged "only" 12.9ppg, 9.8rpg before rapidly becoming a 20ppg/10rpg type of player in subsequent seasons)

By current NBA standards, 10ppg/7rpg are solid numbers for a starting NBA center (Lorenzen Wright-type numbers). 12ppg/9rpg gets you on the cusp of all-star status as a center (Jamal Magloire).
