I love the draft.

Nate wasa SUCH a ballsy pick!

What an incredible trade it turned out to be,

I think the odds are great that Lee will blow Blatche or Taft or Turiaf or whomever was there at 30 away.

Frye - well, y'all know how I feel on that one.

There's more to come folks, plus we still don't know what Butler has or what Reezy and Sweets will pick up over the summer (careful, guys)

I think we all know what Sweets will be picking up this summer. More Sweets.

How would I have done the draft differently?

8) Green
21) Petro
30) Taft

But I am extremely happy with Robinson and Lee. Not a fan of Frye, but I'll give him a chance.
think about it though... green would get NO playing time over Quentin Richardson. None. Not to mention Jamal Crawford. And Ariza. And this whole talk about IT wanting Bury to go over to the 2 spot. IT and NYK needed a center with the 8 pick - the only other legit option for us was Bynum at the 8 spot, but IT went with the safe pick. Which is fine. Bynum might have wilted in NYK. We'll overpay him if he ever wants to come home....

Taft sounds like he is Gazy as #ell, and with all the PF's we have, no thanks. I would have loved Petro at 21 - honestly, why did we need Nate Robinson - i'm not a fan - yet. I know what he's done in college, but 5'9" hurts. There is a reason there are not more Boykins-type ballers in the NBA. Plus Nate is a SG who has said he has terrible handles.

Good post. I was unhappy last night about our draft but I am feeling MUCH better this morning. I would trust Isiah and our scouts with our draft picks over anyone else on this forum. Isiah and our scouts have scouted these players at games, been at workouts and may have monitored their progress. Anyone else on this forum is just reading news articles and making up their mind based on someone else's talent evaluation and maybe attending one college or HS game.

Whatever, I trust Isiah more than guns trusts Green and his talent. Hindsight is always 20/20. If Green and Bynum didnt want to workout for the Knicks privately, why are we going to pick them? based on what?

Excellent point, Silver. Isiah Thomas and his crew have a plan and know what they are doing. All the armchair GM's that are whining and moaning over his picks will be the first ones jumping on the bandwagon when the season starts up.

We picked players that addressed our needs rosterwise. Folks need to remember that JULY has yet to get here, let alone October. We have time to make the moves that need to be made in order to round out the roster.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

I'd say about ten months!

I like the draft a lot. I am much happier today. Like Hardcore said, its not even July much less October. We will fill our holes through trades. Like I have said all along, the trade deadline is the time we can grade Isiah.
