Huge win. HUGE!!! Should've been easier considering the pitching matchup was totally in our favor right from the start (I'm still pissed we didn't destroy this guy Blanton like I expected), but hey man, good enough! Nice job. One more fellas!!!

Very low stress inning for Mo too. What'd he throw, not even 10 pitches right? I wonder if he could give us an inning tomorrow...

he throws the ball w/so much spin it's ridiculous... he should get sponsored by Louisville slugger for keeping them in business for the past 14 years

his career numbers on 3 days rest makes me think that's the way to go... even tho he's much better pitching at YS u still gotta put ur best pitchers out there whenever u can... every game is huge in a short series... u will have Andy for game 6 if necessary & CC for game 7... what better insurance policies can u get than those 2 guys if we should happen to lose game 5?

i almost wish the Yankees lose game 5 so they can have a chance to close out the series at home & christen the House that George built the right way... but after what happened in '04, we gotta take every chance to win every game cuz u never know if you'll have another chance to win another.

btw, i know i mentioned it before but i can't say enough about Damon's AB vs. Lidge... 2 outs u don't think much of it but he really made Lidge work & he hit Teix right after with a pitch after Damon ended up on 3rd on his stolen base... that led to ARod & Jorge's doubles to take the lead again... all started w/a great 2 out AB by Johnny Damon & heads up running on the bases... fundamentals & patience - so important in this game!

ap hasnt gone on short rest in years, and even aj's sample size for short rest is small. this seems like a huge gamble which could extend things. if aj is good (or bad) and they cant close it: ap goes on short rest against pm on full rest and then cc on short again. this doesnt sound very good IF things get extended. it would seem to make more sense for aj in 6, cc/ap in 7. im not seeing how it works well if they dont win it mon. puts too much strain on the 3 starters with a shaky bullpen to some degree.

if it works, no one will care. if it doesnt, things could get messy.

Even when CC looks off, he still gives you quality starts. 5 for 5 in the post-season in that stat.

i just don't like the idea of basically conceding a loss... pitching Gaudin vs. a fully rested Cliff Lee is not my idea of giving urself the best chance to win a ballgame personally... i think u gotta take ur chances w/AJB & hope he follows what he's done prior in his career... Andy pitching on 3 days' rest is even a better option than starting Gaudin in a game if u ask me... & CC would have been the guy in game 7 regardless of what occurs... AJ will probably be able to give us a couple innings too if it goes the distance for that matter.

Pitch Andy on three days rest if it goes to 6. He'll have the next six months to rest!

tms - do you think we stick w molina tonight catching aj? being in the nl and already losing a bat b/c burnett's gotta hit, it makes it that much more difficult a call to start molina imho. jorge has been solid at the plate, what do you do? i personally would go w jorge behind the plate and give us the best chance of winning.

if lee smokes them again, it feels like aj pitching and putting more strain on ap/cc is a huge gamble. we shall see how it goes. may not be an issue at all, or could be huge. even if they dont close mon, this isnt a call thats bad unless it goes 7 and they fall in that 1.

in the NL park i might start Jorge but i think Molina will be catching AJ tonight... Joe doesn't like to mess w/things that are working for him, & Molina's defense behind the plate is essential especially w/AJ throwing those curves that bounce in the dirt... u don't want Jorge back there botching those balls w/men on base.

hopefully Swisher's gonna keep hitting tonight & Cano finally wakes the F up... if those 2 things happen the bottom of our order should be fine even w/Gardner, Molina & AJ hitting in the 7-9 slots... personally i don't think this is gonna be a high scoring game tonight anyway if AJ has his stuff... if not then we probably get blown out, but that's the story of AJB anyway... either he's got the good stuff or he doesn't... i think he'll give us a good 6 innings & then Jorge & Matsui will get some AB's later on in the game after Burnett gets taken out (Matsui pinch hitting & Jorge replacing Molina)
