Anyone who saw the early voting numbers could see this was going towards an electoral landslide and popular vote victory. Media misled everybody once again leading into election night. It was never a toss up, and Trump pretty much had it in the bag a week ago. The mass-mail voting tactics of 2020 created a bar that the dems will never be able to reach again. Although if they ran proper primaries and let the popular person win (they colluded twice against Bernie) they will bounce back, as the system is designed to swing back and forth. They have some formidable people on their bench like Shapiro and Newsom and Whitmer. Kamala was far from the best candidate which was proven when she got 1% in the 2020 primary after having all the early hype and donors in her favor.

Going into next election with a wide open primary and not a pre-selected candidate that the party does everything to push to the forefront is the best thing for the democrats. They have a lot of talent, and allowing someone to rise organically like Obama did is exactly what they need.

Another exit poll showed a "major reversal" among a key constituency — and could prove ominous for Vice President Kamala Harris.

Latino men are breaking for former President Donald Trump over Harris 54 percent to 44 percent, according to an NBC News exit poll. The outlet called it a "major reversal" from four years ago, when Latino men supported Joe Biden by a whopping 59 percent to 36 percent.

Additionally, Harris's support slipped among Latino women, according to the poll. Harris has a 25-point advantage with that group, down from Biden’s 39-point margin.

The macho men didn't want a woman president. The Puerto Rican outrage didn't move the needle for Latinos. They would rather have a man who insults them than a woman. 🤦‍♂️

So true, rather have a white male con artist criminal than a woman. Sadly, this is a mirror of us collectively.

Not to mention that some latinos emigrated from countries ruled by strongmen, but thats probably not why they left.

The Democrats can’t go with a female nominee again. The South and Midwest do not want a female president it should be fairly obvious now. I think Newsome should be the pick for 2028 he’s already got a lot of standing within the party and he’s a charismatic guy similar to Clinton and Obama.

Plus if Newsome runs and the republicans repeal the 22nd amendment he can sh t talk Don Jr about him having his sloppy seconds.

I want either Shapiro or Newsome in 2028. I was one of the few democrats saying to stick with Biden. The South and Midwest will never elect a female president.

Another good option would be Lloyd Austin though I’m not sure if he’s even really a Democrat. He would easily win the Super Tuesday primaries in the South.

I don't have enough feel for South or Midwest but this seems like it's close to truth. And unfortunate.

I have lived a big chunk of my life in both. I live in the south now. The Democrats are kidding themselves if they go with another female nominee. VP would be fine obviously they won 2020 but not as president.

Lloyd Austin is sounding better by the second.

The popular vote is what gets me. Felt Hilary lost because of a broken system. Kamala has lost because of "the will of the people".

I'd love to say that makes it easier...easier personally to accept that I vehemently disagree with the values and judgement of 51% of the country. But the stakes seem much higher with the global climate. Absolutely terrified about the fate of NATO and the dominos that fall after.

Thankful at the very least to live in NY. Proud of my district 22 for flipping it's congressional seat to Mannion. But we'll see what level of impact that has now.

I don't really enter political threads much but I had to reply to this one. I understand what Philc1 said very clearly now. My father can't even vote(He has a lot of issues) and when I asked him who he would vote for he said never a woman. Living in New York all my life I never really understood just how many men in the rest of America feel this way. I have no problem with a woman as Prez but we can no longer try to make it happen because we will lose everytime.

Biden not dropping out until it was too late doomed us. We could have seen that people would not vote for a woman in the primaries instead of the real election. This loss will have great impact for decades to come. They will replace the old hard right Supreme court judges with younger ones and we will be stuck with them for a long time. By the end of this Trump will have appointed 5 Supreme Court Justices.

Question. America will never vote for a Woman President. Would they vote for a Gay President? I really like Pete Buttigieg, but I highly doubt America will vote for a Gay Man either.

No. The religious right has Garner too much influence over the past few decades to ever let that happen. In fact, expect LGBT rights to be rolled back even more.

I don't think it's a No, but certainly a not now or not any time soon.

We don't necessarily elect the best managers of our country but rather the ones we whitentify with. Its our history, like it or not.

We started with religious freedom and ended up in a slavery battle and then a suppression battle that has not ended.
