knicks will win the next 4 games!!!

We're not beating Boston but or schedule gets softer come January. By the end of January we need to be .500 or better.

I watched that game. DJ Augustin flat-out outplayed Derrick Rose.

tough loss

Al drove the ball, but he won't get the star calls. that is sad and a problem in this league..

we need to expand the bench past 7 guys..

we are better. last year on the second game of a back to back, we usually get blown out..

things are looking up.. the losses are tough tho..

As Earl mentioned before, thats great conditioning from the Knicks. Now you see why it was a great move from Mike D to not play guys who aren't in game shape, no matter how much you want to trade them.

exactly...

Don't say that, man. Didn't this game teach you that the Knicks are certainly capable of competeng against anybody when their long range game is on? I hate it when people make this kind of assumptions. Like all those "its over" and "thats the game, we lost" in the freaking third quarter.

Not only are they in better condition. They are expected to compete every night. There is no pre-game interview with Isiah suggesting that they might not have it in them to play the second night of a back-to-back. Damn, that **** used to ****ing annoy me.

This is not the same team that faced Boston earlier. No Z-Bo to get blocked 50 times by KG and Perk. No Jamal to get driven on 100 times by Ray Jesus.

The play of the night for me:

Kobe just had a huge dunk when the Lakers were on their comeback push. But on the other end, Harrington gets the ball, drives to the hoop and jams it with such a pissed-of face, like saying "Don't mess with MY team, Kobe! Here to shut you and your fans up! NY rulez!"

Loved that! Man, Harrington LOVES being a Knick. Without a doubt he does!!!

LOVE what Harrington has done as a Knick. But I would also love if he adjusted his game in a couple of different ways:

- When he gets a rebound he will often dribble the ball up the court; IF he has another guard like Nate or Duhon around him, he should just hand the ball off and run up the court. Seen him make bad decisions with the ball too many times when he takes it himself.

- Allow the PG to create shots for him. I think he works too hard where an opportunity is not there. Let the game come to him instead of forcing stuff.

Was downstairs for the game so was away from the computer - I'm sure you guys covered everything but here's what I saw tonight -

(1) Lee played great - took it right at Bynum quite a few times and scored on him. Wonderful to see. So was Nate. Nate was awesome but I think the team totally relied on him way too much down the stretch - WTF? You can't sit around and watch Nate pour his guts out on the floor and not do anything to help him. Nate was fantastic. He's all guts and all heart. Love 'em!

(2) WTF happened to Q in the second half??? 1 or 2 missed shots and then Trevor Ariza pokes the ball away from him and takes it the other way for the layup and that's it, we don't see him anymore. Pissed me off. Chandler played Kobe about as well as you can but brought really nothing to the table on the offensive end tonight. Q was shooting it well in the first half - we could've used him in the 2nd half - Chandler was scared to death to take a shot in the end of that game.

(2) Chris Duhon - I know he hit a couple of threes and had a good number of assists early but WTF happened to him tonight as the game went on?? Yeah, OK Chris, you did get hit a couple of times out on the perimeter and didn't get the call - but keep your head man. Terrible body language tonight after not getting some calls and he continuely drove the ball with nowhere to go before Nate finally took over and dominated the ball to wind down the game. I was really disappointed in Duhon tonight - I thought he looked lethargic and played lousy.

(3) Harrington - He seemed very frustrated - they really took his entire game away from us tonight. Again, like Duhon, got a little too frustrated when he didn't get some calls. I felt he contributed in other areas though - he played good defense overall and had a huge rebound in traffic down the stretch into a time out that helped give us a chance. Good effort on that near steal out high right before Odom threw that lob to Ariza too.

Oh well. Very pleased with the effort. I just wish more guys tried to help Nate out down the stretch instead of standing around. I want to see this team come back fired up and ready to go against Milwaukee. I want to blow the Bucks right outta the water - we owe those guys!

back-to-back games. 7 man rotation. Not that that's an excuse but it is what it is.

Kobe is an a**hole...Ahmad Rashad, GP and CWebb are interviewing on NBA TV and he said "we needed a game like this, a team to come out hot like that and hit 11 or 12 threes at the half, we needed this, we kept our poise and chipped away at the lead" he can't give the Knicks more credit than that?

...that kind of is what happened, no?...

He couldn't have said. "Great game tonight...the Knicks played a hell of a game...they played hard and are playing with much more confidence...it was a tuff win for us...we had to battle back and fight this fiesty team that got heart now"

ain't no consolation prizes in a loss dude... Kobe's a damn competitive guy & he was proud of his guys for pulling out the W as he should be... i wouldn't expect any of the Knicks to say anything different if they'd won this game either... it's not like he disrespected the Knicks in any way.

this team still does not know how to close out games like good teams do, something the Lakers know how to do as shown tonite... they were thoroughly outplayed & yet pulled out the game because they didn't crumble & knocked down the shots they needed to make at the end of the game.

what do the Knicks do to close out the game? on the final 2 consecutive possessions Al Harrington drives & forces up a shot in the lane in traffic, & then Nate forces up a shot on penetration instead of kicking out to an open teammate on the perimeter... they went to 1 on 1 play & forgot all about the team concept when playing the team style of ball was the reason they had the lead for most of the game to begin with.

this team has not yet turned any corner until they start to pull out these close games against the better teams... it's a learning process & games like this are valuable but at some point this season they have to show they can win these games instead of blowing them down the stretch like they did tonight.

I know Nate missed the final shot tonight, but he has really arrived as a dangerous NBA scorer. 9/16 33 pts....he is as explosive as they come.

Agreed!

IMO Duhon wasn't the problem tonight, it was Wilson being a nonfactor for the most part & both he & Al not hitting their shots & making bad decisions w/the ball down the stretch, & Nate making some bad crucial T/O's late in the game that really killed us & forcing up a bad shot in the closing seconds... he played his heart out but as it sometimes happens, his frantic style of play gets so frantic it works against him at times... he has to learn how to slow things down sometimes & it's tough because that energy is what makes him such a unique & dynamic player, but his 5 TO's were key especially the last couple that resulted in easy points for the Lakers in transition when they were making their comeback in crunchtime.
