Its about potential and if you have to lose some games to get to a higher ceiling so be it. Its a foreign concept to us. He is not a finished product. When he is then we can judge the signing. Big men with potential and coming off injury get big money. If you judge Lin solely for his contract then its different than him as a player.
People freak out here when Lin has 1 year of ridiculous pay. We regularly have 3 to 4 guys on our roster with 2 to 4 years of ridiculous pay left.
Bit of an exaggeration on the 2-4 years, but i agree. If you are going to go in for a chip, there is no reason to fret about the $s. I think it was dolan being pissed off plain and simple
We all know Lin got overpaid, but thats what it took for him to get taken. Thats the new CBA and it worked. Rockets did not know they could get Harden at the time or Dwight. I don't blame the knicks for taking on his salary given this is who we are.
The kid is still young and will find his place in the NBA. Dolan took it personal which is stupid. Linsanity was awesome and given rockets situation at that time he would have sold a lot of tickets which made his value super high at that moment.
THe knicks are more reactionary and make decisions based on short term results.
Denver is rebooting the reboot. I get it. YOu can sell it to fans.
Knicks have highest ticket prices in NBA and boo because we are not privy to the direction of the team. DOlan proclaims championship aspirations but the reality is we are not even close.
Whats wrong with developing young assets and leave cap space for a player that wants to come to a young team that needs one more piece to take it to the top?
IF we are the "Mecca" its not about booing the product on a bad night, its booing the starphuch patina that is sold.
Thus, we are not the "Mecca" and have not been since college ruled in the 50's and the Mecca left in 1974 when the legacy team started to retire. When Paramount owned the company and ran it as an entertainment company as it is today. Its profitable business, but there are no parades when you run it this way.
