Both Heat and Nets have a ways to go before we know the ceiling on each. Miami made a nice furious game of it in the last 1.30min with some nice 3's.
Pierce looked more fit than he was last time I saw him in Green. It was Derons first real minutes of the season and AK47 was out of synch and does not have his wheels yet. Miami looked good.
Glad Knicks and Nets play later in the season as the more fine tuned versions will play the game. First month is a throw away.
I agree about pierce,he looked like he spent the offseason lifting. The heat never could get into a flow against the nets. The nets are really big and Bropez put on muscle weight this offseason 15 lbs. I think last year the nets find a way to lose that game. One thing I wondered about was the traveling call on LBJ late in the fourth quarter. I watched the game on YES and never saw a replay of the play.
It was a travel, but they travel alot in the NBA so to me it was a bit tickey tacky. Do you do it to the reigning MVP? Im not sure. I thought nets let up a bit from fatigue and Miami got care free to hoist some three's that went in.
AK47 makes that dunk most nites and that might have deflated the Heat somewhat. He has not played much in preseason so he is very rusty. Same for Dwil, very rusty. Dwil looks like he is 20 lbs lighter this year.
Pierce's block on lebron was very clutch. Simmons says big thing with Pierce and Garnett is they are not scared of Lebron. I did not loath them as much in black as I did when they wore green.
Joe Johnaon looked very good at times as well. Him and pierce played well togther. Pierce is a hell of a passer!
