Ha... This is almost as funny as when the Lakers gave up their future for Anthony Davis and added 'yeah, but we still kept Kyle Kuzma! '

Still got a chip.

I refuse to acknowledge the bubblechip😤

Minny could have had Ayton. Let’s u know what some people think about him. They gave up a haul to get gobert instead

Gober does make more sense when you have DeAngelo Russel and Karl Anthony Towns on the court at the same time.

Too bad Minn added Beverley to that Utah trade. He and Gobert would have been a problem, defensively

The haul the Jazz got is insane. Who were the twolves bidding against????

The say they’re building around D-Mitch, might go after DeAndre Jordan

Crazy what Minnesota ponied up. Is the core good enough to get over the hurdle? You've really handcuffed your ability to improve the roster outside of player progression.

Ant
KAT
DLo
Gobert...

I'm not sold.

Meanwhile in Utah, Donovan has seemingly had a foot out the door. I know he and Gobert had beef, is this enough to appease him? And if that's the plan, I would have thought start with Gobert and maybe not purge the rest of the roster and coaches.

Oh well. Fun to watch the chaos from a distance.

The good news is that Minny will be out of the "tanking" game for the next decade.

Youngin Edwards might be really freaking good soon. Y’all look for reasons its not gonna work, but maybe look for what can?
Its a big bold ass move and they paid big.
Y’all talk about defense and thats what they are doing. Rim protector and the best defensive center in the game.
Not the best center. But Defensive one1.
That kid edwards is impressive. KAT at forward is making his outside shot more available.
Just because “I don’t see it” don’t mean its not possible. Improbable perhaps, but thats prosports about.

Eh, they did manage to get a first for Brogdan. Brogdan will be a good fit cheering on the Celtics bench as he erecovers from another lower body injury.

Likewise how does Brunson's contract get labelled an overpay when Malcom '50% of games injured' Brogdon gets $22mil per for 3 years

Would make sense of the Jazz/Nets trade where the Nets just landed his best friend for a pick.

Allows the Nets and their media cheerleaders to somehow spin it as LOL Knicks "ha ha, nets steal Knicks target again!".

Basically if we trade all our picks for D-Mitch "Knicks overpaid, can't get better than a 1st round series, terrible fit, D-Mitch over rated, Melo trade all over again". Nets land D-Mitch: "WOW GREAT move for the Nets, should keep the Nets competitive, they get an all star, lol Knicks, can now build around D-Mitch, Simmons will be the perfect fit next to him " etc etc. Honestly, if we ended up trading for him we'd get laughed at for overpaying, and if we decide the price is too high we'll get laughed at for missing out zzzzzzzz

Yep, think you're right- Three way with Suns, Jazz and Nets is probably the most likely deal.

Wonder if we end up doing Fournier and Randle for Tobias Harris. Sixers split his cap figure into 2 contracts, get 3pt shooter and a Boston kiler for the playoffs in Fournier, and Randle gives them front court scoring when Embid gets injured- if anyone can reprogram Randle to become more efficient it will be Morey (only time Westbrook changed his game was with the Rockets). Tobias Harris fits our roster better- better 3 pt shooter, better for chemistry, NY guy, frees up mins for Obi, and he can Tobias can switch to SF. Plus only 2 seasons left now.

Or Zion who barely has played at all gets more than twice the guaranteed money

I like your proposal but it defeats the entire purpose of trading Randle. We want him gone because we have a younger, cheaper, potentially better/better-fitting option in Obi Toppin. Getting Tobias Harris presents the same issues since he plays the same position as Obi.

Maybe we could re-direct Harris to the Blazers as a straight salary dump. I like the mix of he and Jerami Grant at the forward spots next to Dame. And I believe they still have enough cap space to facilitate this type of deal. As much as they'd be doing us a favor, I'd need some type of draft compensation back. I wonder if we could demand a 2023 pick swap especially if we have to take the Eric Bledsoe contract to make the salaries work?

That injury was not incorporated into the pricing at signing. Not a solid analysis. Bullock got 5m a year for 2 years knowing he was injured for 1. That doesn’t make the market for 3&D rotation players 5m per year. Kawhi and Durant each got max contracts despite knowledge of being down for a year. That does seem to set the market to disregard injuries for elite players.

I think FVV is the best comp coming off of his original contract. A 6th man playing behind a star player took over minutes during injury and performed and got a payday. The 26mm vs 20mm AAV is partially due to the increase in the cap and maybe some folks see Brunson with higher upside.

I I think the Knicks need some more 3pt shooting unless Barrett and Randle can regain their 20/21 touch. I would give some dollars to Otto Porter Jr

You know I gonna spin wit it

Otto already signed with the Raptors but good thinking

I missed the Porter signing. Smart move… by Toronto. Masai Ujiri is a fantastic president.
