going in i didn't know what to get from clemens but didn't expect him to go more than 4 innings tonight. i was very happy hughes was called in (he's my 2nd favorite pitcher on the team behind mo). and he didn't dissapoint.
the stadium was loud early, then after cleveland went up 2-0 and clemens looked like crap, the crowd became subdued. but the damon shot basically blew up the stadium.
when he hit it, i stand on the bench (i was in the bleachers), everyone is gasping, and as it cleared the fence, the whole place EXPLODED. everyone raised their arms at the same time - damn near looked like a hitler youth rally.
derek "double play" jeter. i'm liking posada less and less each game. melky is awesome. melky got chants all night. damon is a good player for the playoffs - johnny damon chants all night long. don't understand why hughes didn't pitch 1 more inning. torre is gonna have to explain that one. joba's fastball went from 98/99/100 to 95 in that final inning.
btw, did i say how much i like hughes?
DJ, im going to tonight game. Are you going tonight as well? If so, where will you be sitting? i think we're towards first base line.

Although Hughes was cruising, you have to remember that just two days ago he was pitching in relief in Cleveland. Factor those innings with the ones he threw yesterday and its close to a 100 pitch start, which is fine with me. Jobba coming to pitch two innings was gonna happen because: 1) the most important thing was winning yesterday and you can't understimate the Indians' offense, which did manage 4 runs; 2)because tonight's game will be Wang, who hopefully will be better at home, followed by Mussina if needed early or in relief. Also think about Veras, Vizcaino and Mo as good options later on.

If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

Wait a minute...Are those pictures you took yourself, TMS? I assumed you just got them from espn or yahoo or something. If you took them yourself, that's outstanding photography! Have you taken photography courses?

I think we're gonna pound Paul Byrd early. Hopefully Wang can go 8 so we don't have to go back to Joba or any of the middle relievers. He's been lights out at home this year, and for a sinker baller to go in 3 days rest it isn't always a big deal cause they tend to get more down break on the ball when they are a bit more tired.

It's not nescessarily about the movement, but more the way it's delivered, just remember.
that's true. also depends on the condition of the mound.
& the grooming of the turf might have a cursory effect as well.
What are you guys talking about???
Ohhhhhhh.
You guys owe me $11.6M.
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

Wang may have cost Torre his job. I don't even know what to make of this. Is it just two very bad starts? Or does Wang choke under pressure? Or is Wang's blister bad?

Was it just me or did Craig Sager just say the Indian's hitting coach is named Phil McCraken?
