Uptown wrote:@34GLook at one of my initial responses to you and you'll see that it was never about Lebron and Jordan. It was about Lebrons place in history and Magic Johnson, an all time great, pretty much placing Lebron on a pedestal beside him. That's why I quoted Bill Russell, Barkley, and Bird, even Oscar Robertson, as a way to point out that the elite of the elite to ever play the game have accepted Lebron as a peer and in some cases acknowledge that Lebron is on a fast lane to surpass them.
You are the one that kept bringing up Jordan, so I took it there because I know how big of a Jordan fan you are. To set the record straight, Jordan is the best player I've ever seen and I think he still sits on the throne. I do believe Lebron is amongst the top 10 players to ever play the game. Can he surpass Jordan? Not sure about that but the book is still being written and there are plenty of chapters to go so we will see....
I really don't care to get swept into the Lebron is G.O.A.T. this G.O.A.T. that just because he's won 2 Chips...prior to he was looked at as a failure someone who would never win a chip in Cleveland..... now he's catapulted in the Top 10 All Time?
He has a lot of work left to do...A Lot
This is almost along the lines of discussing Melo MVP Talk after 4gms.
Those all-time greats talking about Lebron have to because it's part of the current times we live in. It's part of what transpires in the moment. If it wasn't Lebron, it would be someone else in terms of how great they are. Every generation starves for a Hero too.
For the record when Shaq and Kobe were creating the Laker Dynasty while they played Iverson in the Finals Shaq was asked about Iverson's hold or place in NBA history and Shaq referred to him as Top 5 All-Time...
Players do this all the time, they're no different than anyone else when caught up in the moment.
