Why was Manu the primary ball handler in the 4th?

37 and 12 in game 7 and he's a front runner? Knocking in jumper after jumpr which was the weakest part of his game for years and he's a front runner? Obviously, most of us Knick fans dont like Lebron but you have to give him his due....back-to-back finals mvp's were well deserved. Dude will go down as one of the top 10 players to ever play possibly even higher...

+1. Lebron carried a pretty weak team here. If wade were beat up like this all season and the team didn't have lebron, I'm not sure they'd even make the playoffs.

That was a bit puzzling. Spurs needed to finish things off in game 6. Great series. It would have been a lot better if the spurs won.

Miami role players were the difference. They hit shots and made big plays and Sa's did not. They simply shut down Green and Neal the last 2 games. Every team needs 3 pt shooters but in any given game--they can be effectively shut down.

This time of year...every year...when a Champion is crowned I get really sad. I just want the Knicks to get one for me, my dad and my brother. Fuck sports for having this affect on people.

Hats off to LeBron, proving again that he is arguably the greatest of all time. In my opinion, only MJ is ahead of him. It won't necessarily take 4 more titles for LeBron to be considered the greatest either. I think with his natural physical gifts and work he puts in he's already in the conversation of who is the greatest nba player of all time. And to think we had a shot at him....

Our best shot was to get Lebron. You gotta hand it to teh miami heat they were very smart in the summer of 2010. also adding ray allen anderson and even battier were great moves

this is more of an inside thing with me and another poster which is why I posted it in a response to him.. no need for me to even engage you in this, you don't understand.. I mean I have been one of biggest lebron supporters on this site when it comes to his talent, so posting his stats and telling me how well he played after I watched the game isn't necessary....

This is more of an inside thing with me and another poster.... I mean how many times have I defended lebron for carrying weak teams, yet every poster on here said he had help.. because they used that in defense or carmelo.. now the heat is weak? I don't think so, wade played well, and they have talent.. I wouldn't call them weak.. a weak team doesn't beat that spurs team..

I think lebron is a great player in this era, but lets remember, Tim duncan still has 4 rings. I think he gets overlooked so often... lebron is definately a product of this stern era.... If we put things in perspective, not sure he cracks my top 10 all time, but close....

I agree with you I truly feel this era is devoid of talent. The other day I was looking at stats from the past and top 7-8 players that were scoring all shot 50% or better. Now we have a scoring title winner the shoots a whopping 44% from the floor.

LeBron is a great player no doubt he is the best this era has to offer.

I think people get caught up looking at legacy through the lens of how many rings a guy has. Yes, that's very important when it comes time to separate the all time greats. BUT...I'd put LeBrons talent and physical presence up against any player in history. You put him in any era and I think he would dominate, much like Jordan. You can't say that about a lot of guys who are considered all time greats.

For example, Kobe has more rings than Duncan, but I'd argue Duncan is ahead of Kobe in terms of the list of all time greats. LeBron has 2 rings, but would you really argue that Duncan is going to go down as the better player? You could make the same argument against a guy like KG. I would argue Ewing was a better player, but KG has a ring so people would look at me like I was crazy.

i saw two major factors this game-- lebron defending a slightly worn down parker and shane ****ing battier hitting huge shots when it mattered most.

lebron james needs another summer of hakeem before he can supplant a few top ten players.

one more thing about lebron-- spoelstra said he is a superbly conditioned athlete. so was jordan and that counts for a lot.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

How we measure is always open for debate.

Lebron can't be meaured at age 28. He has some years to add to the resume.

THre are the winners: Russell and Jordan. These two stand alone.

4-5-6 rings? We got guys like bird, Kobe magic, worthy, jabbar, duncan, Pippen, shaq and Rodman. They are great and Winners!

Wilt has two but he is a top ten guy. Same for Hakeem? Wilt in his era dominated. So does Lebron.

Top 11.....

Wilt
Jabbar
Russell
Shaq
Jordan
magic
Bird
Lebron
Duncan
Hakeem

Room for debate of course.

Oscar, Barkley, Malone, stockton, EWing, Baylor, West, Clyde, Reed, Monroe, Walton, Rick Barry,......some with rings, some without.

Nalod's top 5 by position:

Jabbar c
Duncan f
Bird SF
Jordan G
Lebron G

I got Lebron and Bird as great passers. Duncan and Jabbar will also pass from the post. Jordan can finish. I don't need a pure point on the alltime list.

Agree for the most part but my 5 would be:

Jabbar c
Duncan f
Lebron SF
Jordan G
Magic Johnson G

Bird was great no doubt, but whatever he brought to the table, Lebron is greater at. If you're talking pure passing from the point position, why not the greatest passer of all time, Magic.

Larry Bird did things I've yet to see any small forward or any player for the matter do including Jordan....Prime Bird in a Close Out Game would have Lebron Shook.....

Bird would tell you what he's going to do in a game, in your face and do exactly that when the stakes were the highest.

The further we get from past greats, the more ridiculous these debates become. Too many people didn't see enough of the greats when they were great, including myself not seeing guys such as Wilt/Russell/Baylor/Pete/West/Frazier/Oscar etc etc

Pop went with the wrong guy in the 7th game 2nd half who brought chemistry with his ball IQ an uncanny ability to make others better.

Boris Diaw, he played Lebron well , and he found was to get to the open spot around the hoop for easy baskets.

Boris was very tactical on how he defended Lebron and he's a vet of many playoff wars, but Pop stayed with Green who got hot at home, but couldn't handle it on the road in the most crucial game of the series. This adjustment was to go with the vet in the 4th qtr when the youngster (green) couldn't handle the pressure.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

I'd still go Jordan and Bird any day. As a matter of personal preference. Bird was an ice cold assassin. My 10-year old daughter jumps higher than him. But aside from Jordan and Magic, no other player since the 80s was in the same mental league of Bird as a basketball player.
I think Danny Green joins J.R. Smith and James Harden (OKC version 2012 Finals) for not showing up when it mattered the most.
I give old man Ginobili the pass.
I will watch the evolution of Kawhi Leonard, the anti-Lebron.

Its debatable, obviously but how could you have a top 10 without Oscar Robertson!? An argument can be made for Jerry West aswell....

I saw Bird play plenty. He was great no doubt, he beat you with his mind. Averaging 10 rebounds and 6 assists from the small forward position is insane!

That said Lebron has as keen a Basketball Intellect on the court as anyone in the history of the game. Forget the athletic gifts he has, this guy is still getting better and better. He's actually ahead of Michael Jordan at the same point of their careers.

Jordan will forever be the GOAT, unless James somehow gets 7 or 8 rings.

Bird isn't in the same discussion for James, Jordan is.

I hated Bird while he was playing mainly because he played on the hated Celts....With the that said, I always recognized his supreme talent, one the top 4 players I ever saw. With that said, Bird is on record as saying Lebron is the best all around player he ever saw....
