Considering what we have on the roster, we really didn't need more *new* players, especially swingmen.

At guard... we're stuffed beyond belief with Crawford, Marbury, Francis, Nate... and at SF we have Rose, Q-Rich, and Qyntel (and perhaps Lee)...

We could have tried to trade one of these picks for a future 1st rounder (maybe we did, but couldn't find any takers)...

if you are going to do this you take a david noel who HASan NBA body and elite level athletsicm with some decent offensive skills

i wouldve been surprised and dissapointed we didnt take williams rondo ager but i wouldve lived with noel even if it was also an outrageous reach because of his build and athletic ability

I would've been a lot happier with marcus williams and bobby jones. you get your defensive stopper (who is a better defender than collins and pretty much anyone else in the draft - i haven't seen much of balkman so i won't comment on him), and you finally get a pure point guard. then we trade francis and we have mwilliams, marbury, crawford, and nate.

Balkman cqn do more than Bobby. He'll contribute more to our team

Bobby is bigger and stronger - he'd be able to cover the stronger 2's and 3's out there. I don't know if Balkman can do that or if he'll get pushed around.

Isiah always do good when it comes to the draft.. Don't be surprised if these 2 guys become real players for the knicks.. Remember, isiah always have an eye for talent..

Im shocked he went for defense which is good.. Remember, isiah has that guy with him to jugde talent.. I can't remember his name but he was with the pistons for awhile and helped the pistons get ben wallace and draft tayshoun prine..

Damn, i forgot his name.. short guy who told zeke to get david lee... these 2 guys will be good for the knicks , you watch!!

side note - bill simmons says the rockets/memphis deal was battier for gay and swift. (http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/060629&campaign=rss&source=ESPNHeadlines). Would people be opposed to a francis for swift + filler type of deal?

it is difficult to understand why houston made that deal - i love battier but they should have gotten battier + the memphis pick at least for rudy gay
