^ Obviously not guaranteed a roster spot even if your name is LeBron James or DeMar DeRozan.

Roster's set for a few seasons before anyone starts slowing down. Josh at 31 is our oldest core piece, and the one most people think is the first to ideally take a step back and come off the bench. KAT turns 31 this fall, Jalen and Mikal 30 late this summer.

We still have youth in the pipeline, Kolek/Mo with promising years. Really hoping to see more from Dadiet this season.

We were pretty fortunate on health this year, but you have to expect injuries at some point, and that's when the youth will really get a chance to prove themselves.

In Sac Derozzen was bought in to be part of the empicenter of its culture. Here he would come to compliment it.
If there is a personality thing then obviously MIke Brown don't sign off on that.
Not that clarkson has signed its all a moot point. The thought was IF clarkson don't return and we want offense off the bench.

I Know you hate Lebron with a great passion so you won't see it even if it was someone remote possible (which I don't) but until he signs elsewhere and there is a spot its "Possible". I never saw lebron as a culture killer. I would assume also he knows coming into a team that just won a chip with its alphas does preesnt unique elements. Given the very unlikley scenario its really not worth diving too deep into. Rumors are not pointing to it nor is it even logical at many levels.

But.......Lebron is a unifier than an isolator on teams. Even by Charles Barkley comments this weeks saying he ranks Lebron 3rd of all the players he has seen behind Kobe and Jordan. His reasoning was "Lebron is too nice a guy, does not have that killer in him". In part, Lebron would rather make a great pass to a player to win the game vs. Taking the last shot. He has been critisized for that in the past. On this knick team you'd want Jalen to do it. Also clutch is OG and Kat is pretty darn good in a pinch.
IM not trying to convince you Sergio, just a point of view.

LOL......My official position is a no to the lebron question not because I "hate him", but prefer our core group return as they have earned the victory lap/defending of their chip.

All things being knicks don't win a chip, him winning with Warriors or Cleveland is a decent story and preferable to him in Heat uniform again.

My fandom rarely includes hate anymore. When one is content there is little bitterness. This in life and for sports fandom. Knicks take care of their business who cares about others. My choice.

As of today, we have 13 players signed and two rookies to decide on. Of those 13 players signed our rotation is already set with some guys on the outside looking in.

Brunson/GTA
Mikal/Deuce/JC
Hart/Shamet
OG
KAT/Drummond

Kolek/Dadiet/Diawara are gonna fight for a rotation spot if they make the team opening day.
Nickel/Kayil are rookies. Who knows what happens with their contracts right now?

It's the same basic team as last year but we swap Drummond for Mitch and we have no replacement for Huk. Sochan is also not signed but, he didn't really factor into much. The continuity is a positive but, the lack of proven length off the bench is an issue for me as I have posted multiple times.

I trust Leon. Having won the chip, I'm not even concerned about any of this. After multiple decades of thinking we're never gonna win in my lifetime? I am good. Just contend and be relevant enough to threaten to win another title and I'm ok for now. We are the NBA CHAMPS!!

Knicks have been great with asset management since Rose took over which makes losing Mitchell and Hukporti this off season as free agents unusual. My guess is this is part of the organizations "all in" ethos to maximize our core's prime. Given how critical Deuce has been in various situations, I won't be too surprised if he's kept all season on an expiring contract and the Knicks let him get his bag in free agency next summer.

I still think Sochan is the way to go for the last spot on the team. Even though he lacks size, his block rate and rebound rate are good enough and he plays bigger than his size due to his physicality. If OKC is gonna stick Caruso on Wemby for long stretched, Knicks can do the same with Sochan.

One thing I see on the roster (last year and this year) is an attempt at redundancy.

Brunson / Clarkson [Iso Score]
Deuce / Alvarado [BallHawk]
Bridges / Shamet [3&D -Point of Attack]
Hart / [Sochan] / [McCullar] [ChaosRoam]
OG / [3&D - Free Safety]
[Robinson / Hukporti]
Dadiet / Nickel [3 Pt]
KAT / Diawara [Stretch Big]
Drummond [Off Reb C]
Kolek

There really aren’t many (any?) players like KAT. Adding MoDi there is a leap. Instead they have Drummond. Like they’ve done in the past, they are attempting to replace his rebounding without his offense.

This analysis speaks to Hart/Sochan but a guy like Nickel or Dadiet as the third Wing would make Sochan’s lack of shooting liability unnecessary. So, I am not sure I see Sochan as back or not. Depends on how Pacome and Nickel finish camp, right?

You know I gonna spin wit it
