Personally a snub would be funny and my preference. But if they vote and go because its the office and as a favor to Dolan who is a generous employer to players It would not bug me out.

The dirty play? he needs to clean that up but it also might result from fatique which makes all men do stupid ****. Embiid gets worse when he can't move due to injury or fatique. neither of these guys are "visious" in character. They just do stupid things that are dangerous.

We saw the thinnest of margins even in the finals. I know "Knicks in five" was on paper convicing but SAS held lead in the series like 69% of the time? SAS win game 3 the series tied heading home things might be different. They lose because Wemby passed the ball to Castle who was not looking. Castle himself was fatiqued in parts of the series. He also lets his emotions get him good at times as well. They lose doing stupid ****. Curious did their coach not reign them in? Did they not listen? Did he instruct them properly? Young team, young coach.....and yes coaches get fatigued also!

We can call knicks more experienced and mature which is true. There was something about about being so dominant in earliler rounds that also gave them rest, time to heal, and mental clarity. A ****ing Juggernaut thru the playoffs and arrogance to come back from deficits! Because they blew thru Cleveland and SAS/OKC had a war gave them great advantage.

Wemby and SAS might not be so far off the mark but they have a long road to get back to the finals.
I suspect Wemby will keep at it and perhaps have enough to see it through. There is always the "Unicorn Thing"....and his health just can't carry it.

Bol Bol was very predictable. He only played 9 games in college before a foot injury sidlined him the rest of the way. He always looked like he lacked the phisology to sustain an NBA career. Objectively he has the height and range but little else.

If Wemby fails it won't be from a lack of trying.

Yes, we won the series by the thinnest of margins. The Spurs really were a routine play away in games 2 and 4 from really sticking it to us. But they did not opt for the easy basketball plays either time and we took advantage. Their players are probably going to have nightmares over these moments for a long while, maybe forever.

Game 2: The Knicks miss, Wemby's rebound should have practically sealed the game. Castle could have come back to get the ball, Wemby could have dribbled it up, and the coach could have either yelled instructions to the players or called TO. None of those things happened. Wemby made it even worse by fouling Brunson and putting him on the line for the deciding points.

Game 4: Fox came up with the loose ball and went for the score. If he pulled back and took time off the clock we're dead in the water. We had to foul, setting us up for OG's tip in.

I concur: the Knicks dismantling of their opponents in the east lead to big rest and time for preparation. I think this was a huge factor and gave us an edge, helping us overcome the Spurs HCA and youthful energy, especially with the Spurs going 7 with OKC. Spurs were emotionally and physically drained. The way they celebrated survival in game 7 was kind of over the top. I mean if we had to take down the defending champs in a slugfest en route to the finals, we'd probably have been worn down too.

Regarding Bol Bol: this guy lost a lot of critical time due to injury. Some players can't make up for that. (Embiid somehow did - he missed a chunk of his freshman year, then sat out his first 2 seasons in the NBA - how he ended up as good as he did without ball is pretty remarkable). Bol was sort of like the quintessential early 2000's Euro player or high school player who got drafted to the NBA. Lots of skills, but you really have no idea how it's going to play out in real game situations.
In any case, I did some digging. He signed with the Philippine Basketball Association (NBA) earlier this year and subsequently tore his achilles. He's out for a while, maybe this puts the nail in the coffin for his NBA career.

Back to Wemby: Wemby to me, has a little bit of that Chris Webber or even T-Mac thing I've alluded to over the years. He celebrates a little too hard on the court. The big smile, the primal scream. The media eats that up. Media talks about how great it is to see these young guys and all the emotion. The other team makes a big play and then you get that scared look. It's not just Wemby, it's lots of players. KAT, especially pre-Knicks, does a bit of that. Kevin Garnett. I think all of that wearing that emotion comes at a cost. Luckily for the KG, he was able to win with killers in Pierce and Allen. And KAT had Brunson.

I just think that if Wemby continues to be the celebration/emotion guy, Castle or maybe Harper will need to become the stoic leader and calming influence. It's tough because they're all so young. They're more likely to keep on doing the things that they feel got them to the finals - more and more emotion. But that also makes them a little fragile when they're opponent hits them back.

I disagree - especially about Game 2 and the ending. We were up substantially and SA went on a run. Even if Wemby doesn't fumble the pass to Castle it was still a tied game at home (with SA already down 1-0) - I don't see that game as they choked and would have won b/c of Wemby's pass. Sure it helped make things easier but we likely would have played good defense and had the ball back tied up - with all the pressure on SA being down already at home. I'll give you Game 4 as there were many stupid/repeated things SA did that helped them choke the game away...but again we did have to make all those shots (the same ones SA made all in the first half), play great defense, etc... Our maturity IMO is no question the reason we won. Castle and Wemby are great but you have to have those learning moments to know how to handle things (esp when young). Remember Jordan vs Pistons the first 3 times - he made mistakes and poor decisions b/c he didn't know what was needed. Brunson's greatest strength to me is his ability to read what is needed in many moments. I wish he would pass more, play more defense, have better court vision, etc - but he does seem to have an amazing pulse on leading the team through his decision-making and actions on the court.

We had to come back from many deficits. Does that make the outcome any less better? No. But it was not wire to wire domination when we read "Knicks in 5".

Fact is SAS had won 60 games and were favored to win the series. Im not reqwriting history or running around taking reciepts for all who questioned a knick championship. I have long been discussing the parity of the league and the lack of an "It Team" and that every year teams can surge to make a run. Indiana the season before made the finals and took OKC to game 7 with Haliburton's achilees hanging on a thread. Yes, he is a jerk but like him or not the guy was doing all kinds of clutch heroic **** not just against knicks. They surged in the second half of the season.
Knicks this past season was viewd by many as "They could do it" but had yet to demonstrate a full season of chemistry and at one point lost 9 in a row while Mike Brown was doing his thing. History? I said early last season its the last 20 games that would matter with the new coach. ANd yes, game 4 vs. ATL and beyond the team did something that was epic and they blew thru a tired Philly team and a flawed Cleveland who with knicks were preseason favorites for the east.

OKC was missing a key man in Williams but otherwise was so very deep and SAS had enough with the dirty and weak Wemby to get thru them. Knicks proved to be the better team. Knicks were well rested. Knicks were healthy. Knicks were more mature. Knicks were mentally stronger. Yet SAS was up 69% of the time. Rerwight history? All I said was that I questioned what happens if we don't win game 4? You that insecure about an intelectual question? Your fandom need to demonize and label Wemby? Fact is the ******* jerk that is Haliburton and the "Dirty and mentally weak" Wemby both got their team to the finals. Their "Flaws" were not enough to prevent that was it?

Im my freshly renovated home study I have to the right of me hanging a 24x18 framed picture of OG tipping the ball in. The single greatesst knick moment in over 50 years! What made it great was overcoming yet another deficit. It meant NOT having the series tied going back to Sas. It proved to be a kick in the stomach that they could not over come. The glory from the tension of that deficit was amazing! To me respecting the opponent makes the achievement even greater!
