Knicks can get back in to this series on monday if they take advantage of the Heats overplaying Melo. When we beat teams we were not just posting Melo, but having motion off that play too. We can post Melo and when they overplay you can have STAT coming off a curl on the weakside and send a cutter down the lane. There are lots of options to simply looking to force it into Melo.

What I saw was that our role players were a bit tight. Shump was scared to shoot and as a team we didn't adjust to the way they were defending Melo so aggressively. Woody has to see this sooner and change up the approach. He failed in this game big time. His in game adjustments weren't there. He's got to react faster and give the team a set of responses to the aggressive and fast Heat defense. It's not easy to prepare a team for the Heat. They're so fast on defense. We need to use that against them tho. We'll see how Woody responds to this on Monday.

"Melo at the 4" lovers? WTF? Can we STOP with this lover-hater horsesh!t?

We had no PG on the floor for that stretch and the offense stagnated.

If we win Game 2 advantage goes back to us. Damn why is STAT on the floor put JJ2 in Woody!

True... but I just expected this game to work out a whole lot better than this for us than this...

Knicks need to even the scales a bit... Start butchering the Heat and throwing some elbows....

I won't be contented until we WIN that game 2... or until I see at least one of the major Heat players get carried of like Shump did.

UK Meetup here? Game 2 or tonight just to drink? http://www.yelp.com/biz/jimmys-corner-new-york#query:cheap%20sports%20bar

Truth be told, I'm not the best of company after a letdown like this, and it's why I just avoid public places when I'm in a shetty mood. Thanks for the offer, but I'll have to politely decline.

If I were to go out and some pool-putt bandwagon rider says the wrong thing, it's not going to be a good look... I'm just going to stay home, chill out, turn off basketball for the rest of the night, watch a movie or three, and maybe chat on the phone with one of my Bulls fan friends who is praying hard for the health of Derrick Rose, who also went down with a knee injury today.

Let me know how the meetup was, but I doubt that there will be many die-hard Knicks fans down to do anywhere tonight.

Ugh... I am so disgusted... but not feeling as bad about this as I was about an hour ago.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

As horrible as this game has been, I'll jump off the bridge only if this happens again in Game 2. If we can win that game, this loss won't hurt that much. But if this continues, I might give up on NBA fanhood. I love a good game where each team works hard and the refs make balanced calls. While we have played bad, this game was lost in the 2nd when we kept fighting and the referees kept the Heat up with bad calls. That quarter killed our will. It shouldn't happen, but it did.

I don't agree with those of you who are simply giving the Heat credit. They are leading this game, yes, but there is much a team that is already an underdog, there is much that team can handle when there is such a questionable disparity in foul call, especially for a playoffs game.

This may very well be the series that defines if I still believe in this league or not. This game has been repulsive in the way it has been called and no fan that expects its team to have a chance to win should be subject to this. I give a damn about raitings, sponsor deals and all the ****ty stuff that makes leagues sale their souls and their integrity. I care about a fair game. Miami is playing well, but they should've never been up 20+ if the gam was called right.

Bring in Game 2. If this repeats itself, the NBA will have one fan less. I know they won't care, but hopefully the trend will continue.

My POV? I don't want to see us play Melo at the 4 anymore than you do. I am just asking you to stop labelling people as so and so haters and so and so lovers. It's stupid, irritating and serves no purpose. But whatever.

TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

It's not as irritating as listening to everyone commenting on so called ISO ball or about Lin or MDA every freaking time the Knicks lose...

it's always been my point of view to have more than one offensive threats...Melo with 4 guys standing around won't beat the Heat....Asking Melo to drop 35 a game won't win against the Heat either, they showed that today...Doubling down on that philosophy won't change how they defend him, Bron will still play him, he will still be denied the ball where he likes it...And to illustrate my point further, we got killed on boards in the second quarter when STAT was on the bench...

Knickstorrents described how our team was built pretty well before the season started: "We are using the same strategy as the Heat, except our players aren't as good, and we are paying our players more money."

I don't think it's that dire...I think we need good PG play to get STAT involved...But many teams has relied of two if not three big players for decades and have many rings to show for it...

I agree. I think you have to remember that Tyson had the flu and there are reports that he was dizzy on the court. Also, Berman reported that Tyson didn't meet the media because he was receiving iv fluids. The Knicks have a big three and it is pretty good. I think losing Shump was devastating but it is a seven game series. If the officiating evens up hopefully the Knicks get back into this.

No joke. We undoubtedly still had worse luck than Miami but not 33 points worth of worse luck.
