Reality check time. This loss sucks because we were so close.

But isn't it a testament to our team's guts that it came down to one possession? It was Carmelo and a bunch of D-leaguers against the fully-armed and operational Death Star. Jeffries is a stiff. That's no surprise. What's a surprise is he made that open lay-up.

Meanwhile, Bill Walker doesn't hit a shot, Landry Fields vanishes, Shawne Williams gives us next to nothing, alleged sharpshooter Roger Mason airballs a wide-open 3 and misses an open layup, Toney Douglas turns in one of his worst games in a Knicks uni and Turiaf is barely upright.

It took a TOUGH KG hook shot to sink us. Doesn't ease the pain, but we were playing with house money.

Makes me sad we wasted a rare 3 ball by Mason. Melo put this team on his back to give them a chance. Td showed up some in the second half. *sigh* Yeah JJ was open .... but with KG coming over not for long.

We just have to hope that STAT and CB can heal up and get back into the series. Until we lose a home game i'm not gonna panic. I still believe in this team. This was a freak game with STAT getting hurt.

6% of teams who have gone down 2-0 have went on to win. 6%.

thats why the play the games bro. 1990 knicks over C's after going down 2-0 in a best of 5 series.
C's have gotten lucky 2 straight games on their home floor -- tonight they should've blown us out it was MELO and 4 d-leaguers!

lets see how it goes in the garden.

Best of 5, not best of 7. The circumstances are way different now.

Ugh, another heartbreaker! At 40/40 Club around more Celtics fans instead of Knicks fans. Should have gone to Stout? Thoughts: Rondo did his thing, and with only 1/3 of our Big 3 surprised we did as well as we did. Melo is a beast. 1st qtr: feature Fields? Didn't work. 1st half was weird: Celtic fast breaks and Knicks half-court. So close. ARGGggHHH! (almost Allanfan'd)

There's no execution down the stretch with this team, but I am pleased with the effort.

Wait a minute! You think the Celtic's can't be beat after what we just went thru losing 2 of our best players in this series? Man what's wrong with you people? I don't understand the negative statements about this team. We weren't the better team coming in and yet we're right on the edge of getting over the hump and we've had to fight the refs and injuries to two of our best players. I'm not sure I understand some the Knick fans right now.

Knicks just showing us that they are not ready for greatness just yet. We had our opportunities, game 2 identical to game 1. They are down 1, they call a play and get a bucket. They guys hit big shots, we still had our chances, Jeffries made a bad decision. You are at the hoop, go up strong and draw a foul. You suck at shooting but you have a 60% chance of at least tying the game.

Sigh.

THANK YOU. some of us fans have the wrong attitude about this. I don't see any Celtic mystique. I just see a team that has all of it's players and a ton of experience playing with each other. IMO we've pushed them to the limit and we haven't even come close to playing a good game yet. We KNOW this team can play better than this and hopefully we can get healthy and win at home. Until we lose at home i'm not panicking.

It doesn't matter.

We're not advancing, they are. I'm not getting into injury excuses.

We're getting beat, period.

D'Antoni was great tonight. We scored after almost each timeout tonight with easy baskets. Only one we didn't score on unfortunately was that last possession and if Jeffries executes, it's a Walker dunk.

I can't put any blame on the coach tonight, we gave it 110%. You can only get screwed over so many times...

Not sure if it was already said, why in the world was Jerad Jeffries in the game!!! I was screaming during the timeout, "Get Jeffries out of there!" Where was Shawne Williams?

Also, interesting defensive looks we were throwing out, double teams kept Celts cold for a while. Sure all of that covered upthread. So I repeat: ARGGGGGGGHHGH

No one here is saying that the Celtics are winning the NBA Finals, but they are advancing into the secound round.

We made progress this year, we really did. But we're going to taste our own blood before we succeed.

We're talking about a matchup player, in the worst matchup situation for him. We need to score one basket. He is just not an offensive player and when you need one basket he cannot be out there. Every coach at every level plays offense/defense subs and that was a perfect time to sub.

I will say I'm impressed slightly with D'AnToni's ability to coach a half court game at a slower pace. I hope his supporters acknowledge we aren't competitive playing SSOL but instead because we've become moderately more conventional.

Even with a half decent PG we win both those games.

Watching Douglas makes me miss Duhon.

So then why implement SSOL in the regular season if you're going to slow down the pace and play conventional basketball in the postseason?

Anyone else andthe defense would have been different and they wouldn't have left him alone under the basket.
