But if you don't call this you don't call the Melo Offensive Foul for same reason..it's the damn playoffs. I blame Toney for this..Derek Fisher would not fall on a play like this..You just can fall. Same reason I hate Greg Anthony for that Reggie Miller 7 point run..although he got pushed in the back you just can't fall. |

![]() I actually had to miss the second half which appeared to be a thriller. I'm encouraged by what I saw. To lose 87-85 proves to me we have the personnel to win these games, it's up to the coach first and foremost to get the players into a scheme that affords them the chance to win these games and then for the players to execute it. We choked away a few plays late defensively but it's a lesson learned hopefully we take into Game 2 and the rest of the series.

![]() The Celtics close us off at the perimeter, close passing lanes, etc. We've got to use screens and PnR to free guys up. Too many quick 3s and Iso's. We gotta up the physicality and be the ones laying dudes out.

Gravity isn't a choice, dirty play however, very much is. Disgusting is right. TD's lucky he didn't get hurt on the play. |

Chauncy too old and TD just doesn't know how to yet. Same reason they start their offense way out on perimeter and do too many iso's Official sponsor of the PURE KNICKS LOVE Program

Instead we rely on spreading the floor with 3's, but our cast isn't all that well suited to that either. |

I was at a bar watching the game with Andrew so I missed more action than if I was watching at home, but Chauncey played horribly in the first quarter, and he still does not run the offense (as a whole) very well. TD is limited when running system if his first option is stopped. I think the spread the floor part is OK, but if you can stop the first or second option of what the Knicks try to run, you can stop them. Their PGs don't reset the offense well enough; if there is time on the clock left, the PG should come back to the ball and take it back and run PnR again, which they don't do enough of. ![]() Man we got jobbed by the refs in this game. I hate even bringing it up, but TD got tripped on that last shot, Chauncey got fouled on his drive that he got hurt. Jermaine O'Neal constantly puts his hand on the shoulder of the guys he's defending so he can hold them down and they let him get away with it. Just horrible whistle which I expected, but still. One other thing the ref's seem to lets the C's get away with a lot of dirty tricks. Like that fake offensive foul that Pierce got for floppin when Melo fended him off. The C's set a lot of dirty picks too.
ON the game I think the Knicks did a great job for much of this game and really the C's didn't do anything with our set D. We can beat these guys. We just need to make some adjustments on offense so that we're not just taking jumpers, but can get to the hole more and thus get to the Foul Line. We settled for too many jumpers and as usual our PG's didn't attack enough. Great game tho. |
