Marv, Kobe had a good game one (a game Gasol dominated), a foul plagued/blah game 2, a horrifying shooting game in game 3. And today he had that solid 2 minute spurt just now, they were winning the game midway through the second with him only having taken 4 shots

Gasol has thoroughly dominated his matchup in the series, and if they went to him more in game 3 they would have had a much easier time winning than watching Kobe trade bricks with Ray allen

re game 3 - i'm less interested in a guy's shooting percentage at this point than his hitting the key shots for wins. as kobe did in game 3.

If I recall correctly, Kobe was like 1 for 5 in the 4th quarter of game 3. His turnovers are also high in this series, 4 in the first half today. Im not saying hes been awful, hes been OK. Not really Kobe-esque, I just think thusfar Pau has been their biggest difference maker

Since halftime of game 2, Ray Allen is 1 for 22 from the floor through halftime tonight

Bynum not starting the 2nd half, must be really banged up

Bynum looked awful on his limping trot out of the locker room to the bench during the early part of the 3rd. I doubt he comes back in tonight, and at this point who knows about his availability for the rest of the series. Could be huge

Edit: He just came back in late 3rd quarter

Ray Allen is scoring again and the Celts have the lead back.

I fully expect Phil to kill the Knicks for making the trade. Lakers got hit with a bunch of Nate and don't know what to do.

ok...the celtics bench, led by nate is playing the biggest minutes of the game and doing well.

doc is letting them play it out...he gets props for that.

and nate, IN AN NBA FINALS GAME...IS BRINGING IT.

what does that mean? EVERY player in the league can help you win...even in an nba finals game. so stop sh tting on players b/c everyone has talent and can excel in the right situations.

Gasol is shrinking with every possession. Now he is stepping out of the lane when guys come right at him. That's a no no. His turnovers have killed any Laker momentum.

It means he still sucks. But good for him. I could care less how he performs because he didn't do it for us and isn't doing it for us now.

Sparkplug off the bench for 15 minutes is all he is good for and he even fails at that sometimes. Some people wanted him to be a 30 mpg 6th man or even a starter. He's not good enough for that.

Well, the truth is that Nate is a good role player and he's excelling in that position. With the Knicks, he thought he was the best player on the team and a starting quality player and his ego got the best of him. He's simply too short to be a consistent starter; he gives up a ton on defense. As a sparkplug off the bench, Nate is great and a very good piece to have. He's like a super Earl Boykins. I'll be happy for Nate, as long as he doesn't think some good bench play on a potential championship team makes him a star worthy of hefty salary. He's an MLE player at best. If he is slotted in the role he's playing right now, he will have a pretty solid career.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Bynum may be the most overrated prospect since 2005

overrated? I think just most injured is all. Dude would dominate if he could get healthy.

He was picked 10th overall and wasn't really heralded as any type of savior.

Bynum is overrated -- mostly by BRIGGS so we have a skewed view of him. Bynum is a pretty good player. He is in no way a superstar and was not going to be injuries or not. He has benefited from the fact that Kobe and Pau gasol consume 4 defensive players between them leaving him to get dunks and short shots.

But Bynum does what he is supposed to which is make it tough for guys to get their shot off and he makes shots around the basket.

***

Charles Barkley: Nate Robinson is "Eddie House" on Steroids. Indeed he is. Nate Robinson doing exactly what he is supposed to do for his team recently. He can make a big impact in a short period of time. If he is not playing well you go somewhere else.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Bynum is only good because he's playing with Kobe, Gasol, Odom......oh wait this can only be applied to Rajon Rondo when we're discussing who a player is playing with(my bad).

I don't think he's any better than Andrew Bogut and Bogut is alright but some of us talk about Bynum like he's the next best thing

Come on Juice, Bogut is better than Bynum especially with the development Bogut has gone through this year. He is a much more skilled player and has to deal with double teams by his oen self.
