![]() Tweet was deleted or there was problem with the URL: "I hate making posts that say nothing is new, but sometimes an update is important. So here it is: there's nothing new on the Knicks/Donovan Mitchell front. But the last conversation saw both sides unwilling to compromise at this point. As I've said, the Knicks are fine with giving up draft capital. What they don't want to do is give up a valuable draft compensation AND toss in multiple young players that the team values way more than the Jazz value them. So everyone took a break (including Donovan, who is in Europe for some Adidas work) and the expectation is they'll get in touch again at the end of the summer." |

Lakers get 2 great shooters at Sf and Sg (Fournier and Bog), a PF in Randle (previous Laker and played with AD), Young player their interested in (CAM), plus Rose after he’s been bought out to be their PG/ Backup PG. Maybe it persuaded them to part with 2 firsts at last. Jazz mainly get expiring plus a shed load of firsts, possibly a record amount for Ainge to boast about (maybe persuades them not to insist on a young player from us). We get D Mitch- the other players we get back are mainly to help facilitate the rest of the deal- you could just leave out the Rose for Bev part, if the Lakers don’t want Rose at the minimum. But they could also be useful to keep or flip for picks or a backup PF |

Do they tow this line for any other GM? |

The Gobert trade set a very bad precedent and this makes this time the worst to make the trade and with Ainge in Utah, much less. From the guys seemingly available, I'd only consider such move for Jaylen Brown, and I'd still try to keep as many youngsters as possible. Donovan is good, but I don't think he is the right move at this time with the demands Ainge is making. Knicks_Fan
