32 minutes tops each? Except Obi. He should play all 48.

For fans it should be interesting. Knicks have had an easy space of games to rest and practice. Be interesting to see what they are working on and perhaps plan to implement. Now, it might not always look pretty when installing new things (we seen this before with IQ, Grimes and RJ).

I think the only thing left to decide about Thibs is when he gets his extension. This thread is a dead horse.

Had to guess, he on a five year deal and just completed year three and one would think extension would be in the summer of ‘24 as he goes into his final year.
No doubt a successful campaign but one that saw him after first month rumored on the hot seat?
Might think Johnny Bryant given the teams development of its guards might be up for a head coach job?
I like succession plans but if Thibs is not down to give up his seat im sure mr Johnny has aspirations beyond current knicks gig. I was under the impresison he is about the highest paid assistant in the league.

I do wonder about Thib's health. Dude is not young and his hands shake a lot. Hope he is well and can keep up this pace. He has a lot to give

Did not see the shaking. If I did it was he trying to not put his hands around the refs throat? Or does Randle and RJ give him neurological issues?
Of he has an issue perhaps the stress is not in his long term best intersts and Byrant is the man next and thibs “consults”. FO is crowded but MSG never had an issue paying dudes there.
Lets hope we can send him out with a chip!
I’d think this would be addressed before the media swarms on it. Thibs can say “hey, Im happy to let my contract expire and then see where Im at”. Its been done before. Knicks can give him annual one year extensions too prior to expiring. Thus he stays on effective two year deals

You can really notice it in the post game interviews. He does the normal thing that I assume all folks do in his situation, keeps them moving or tapping to make it less noticeable.

But I would also not be surprised if he is just flexing them in a throat clinching motion for the refs too. Or Randle

Boozed up Don Nelson was up there before he went on his weed kick. And Larry... Don't think I can ever forgive him for making lil Nate cry.

Interesting observation. Mine is that his movements sometimes seem a bit stiff. Really hoping that's just alwayd been his mannerisms and these are non issues because it kind of reminds me of when my pop was first diagnosed with Parkinsons disease.

Aging sucks. My mom who was always so strong is now an elderly nearly deaf woman who needs diapers. I'm 52 and for most of my life did 2 hours of exercise per day, ( biking, walking, swimming, weights and various sports ) now has to sleep after work due to fatigue from diabetes. Aging sucks

Oh to be a young person forever, I get the lure of Vampire fiction, to be young and beautiful forever even at the cost it demands. Go Knicks win a championship and remain forever young in our imaginations. You will always be remembered young and vibrant

So I missed the 3rd quarter thinking we have this game under control.

How many times have we come out of half time and got destroyed? During thibs tenor and prior. What are they doing at half? Or not doing?

If we are shooting bad against Cleveland and shooting bad against Miami, I would expect some adjustments on offense. Thats on the coach.

Rotation is also on the coach. I love hart but he has limitations and depending on who’s on the floor with him will determine his impact. But having hart, RJ, Obi, Mitch on the floor together there’s no room inside for JB. And there’s nobody on the floor to open lanes for JB.

RJ also needs room.

Hart is a better player than grimes, but with certain lineups grimes is a better option. And having 4 below average shooters around JB is hard to sustain.

I still believe thibs will make the necessary adjustments to win the next game and the series, but these are holes in our roster and in the coach that we have to improve on. Grimes in the starting unit balance out the rotation and chemistry of players on the floor.

Let’s hope grimes and Randle are back and Thibs is back with his normal rotation of 9 players that was so successful. I would like to see deuce get loose to calm down these guards. Especially when they are hitting and JB is not. Bring in deuce to relieve that defensive pressure off JB so he can focus on getting into an offensive rhythm.

The adjustment for when teams clog the paint on you is to swing out to open 3s. We had open looks and didn't make them. Thibs can't make the shots. Only one guy shot over 33% from and it was Toppin, who's not even the guy you depend on to do that. Grimes first game off injury - if he's healthy maybe he can play more next game and shoot us out of this trouble.

Listening to Hahn on the radio - he indicated that the Knicks took 23 open/uncontested 3's and only made like 5 of them. Combined with Foul Differential and Missed Foul shots - that pretty much adds up to the Knicks losing vs. winning.

I agree but we can’t give thibs credit when we make shots and don’t allow him to share the blame when we miss shots.

My thing is if grimes will be on a min count and Obi was our best 3 pt shooter, did Obi ask out? Did grimes ask out? No. This was a coaching decision. Again, thibs out coached the cavs. But thibs got out coached by the heat. It goes both ways.

Thibs has grown in this area of adjustments, in game and between games. Will be interesting to see his adjustments next game, especially in the 3rd quarter death trap. If we can go into the 4th with a lead, that’s an improvement. Somebody please fire the half locker room hype man. It hasn’t work for years. Worse 3rd quarter team ever. Maybe we should stay on the court and not even go into the lock room. 🤔 🧐 💭
