I can't believe people are still using the words "easy" and "win" in the same sentence.

Wiz are starving for a win, and they are desperate. Knicks love to use every excuse in the book why we cant win.

This is a typical trap game for us....Best case, we win a close game on a last second shot.

I don't know about "Best Case", but no game is a gimme with this team. I just want a solid win, where the team looks like a real team. I'd like some execution on both ends, but especially on defense.

I'm not the type to rub it in but did I call it or what...."Best Case" we win a close game on a last second melo shot.....This team will have problem beating a HS team right now. We need a veteran PG in the worst way....

I was thinking about what you predicted when the game ended lol If Shumpert has started from the get-go Knicks would've won by 15+ and I would've got gamepicker right!

Exactly..why are people complaining like they didn't watch the game...we came back from a 16 pt deficit almost instantaneous as soon as we had the lineup change.

Big lineup...6'5, 6'7, 6'8, 6'10, 7'1

Switching on picks is not a problem anymore with this lineup....All because Shump can guard 3...sometimes 4 positions. Fields can also hold his own on defense, with his lateral quickness....and the teams trust each other on those switches with this big lineup.

When TD is in the game, or Bibby....they try too hard to help out on the defensive switches, which leaves players wide open. Can't wait til BD comes back. He's another heavy weight that can play multiple positions on defense.

TD's value is slowly slipping away.....

TDs value is totally different as a scorer off the bench....very valuable when he's right. Being horribly misused.

TD was good off the bench last year in a Bobby Jackson role. And he shot well when he filled in for Billups

The Shump effect! More driving and ball movement and shoot 3s within confines of offense. I think he assisted on back to back 3s by Bibby at one point.

Actually Melo had a bad 4th Quarter..Lots of Iso leading to bad missed shots towards end. We actually beat the Wizards because of defensive effort in 2nd and 3rd quarter and a offense looking much better with Shump on court. Amare had some moments offensively in 2nd quarter too.

And when u play the 1st quarter with the NBA's worst starting point guard you take a win like this.

1. The Wiz were a desperate team playing hard after a "players only" meeting. They were not going to roll over.

2. Knicks came back from a 16 pt deficit. Don't knock it.

3. Progress was evident. Its not a straight line.

4. NBA road win. Even against a brain dead Wiz team it was a win.

Funny, I was watching Bibby and was thinking maybe its time to cut him. Then he hits 4 in a row. We don't see progress coming, it just happens when it happens.

I only caught Q4. And it looked like the Wizards got pretty much whatever shot from whereever they wanted(as did we). They shot 48% for the game when I think their season average is below 40%. Most of it was in transition. Bibby got a charge on a bad pass. Good play but not really stopping Wall. A team like the Wiz should have no buisness making this a close one. Thank goodness Melo was feeling it!

1. Shump is the real deal. Needs to improve his shot but I like how he's progressing with the playmaking and decision making.
2. We have no penetration defense and John Wall is really, really fast
3. Great work on the offensive boards by Chandler.
4. Defense was horrible as ususual
5. A win is win though! We just need to hold on and not get in too big a hole and hopefully when we start playing better we'll be competitive enough to be relevant

The Defense was actually good..again..outside the first quarter. Wizards at 32 in first quarter. Only 64 after.

Also it's a tall order to keep Wall from doing that the whole game. Shump did a pretty good job on it for most the game. Got a strip on one of his drives. Bibby got a charge on him one time. From a set Half court defense the Wizards had no penetration when Shump was on the court.

Agree completely with this post.

I feel like anyone complaining didn't watch this game.

The 3rd quarter of this one felt like the pre-season game last season against the Nets at the Garden where the Knicks finally figured out how to play D'Antoni's offense and Felton and Amar'e finally clicked.

Shump running the point was a revelation. I didn't think he was a point guard and I still don't think he'll be one long-term, but he certainly has a better feel for it than anyone we have healthy right now.

I hope like heck MDA starts Shump at the point in Detroit tomorrow.

I like the way Baron Davis was teaching at the end of the game. I don't want to be like super evaluative based on what little we see on TV, but its a chemistry builder.

Fields just goes and hides in the corner on offense and has lost his confidence. Damn shame!

IM ok with TD starting but we can't fight back from being down every nite.

Amare is shooting from further out like its preseason. Shump is good. Starting him is not as important as who finish and his over all minutes.

On to Detroit.

Starting Shump may not be as important as who gets the most minutes, but I think that doing so may keep us in the game in that 1st Quarter instead of simply falling back by double digits like seems to be the norm now.

+1,000,000

It is so obvious that Shump MUST be our starting point guard till Davis is healthy that it is not even funny.

We were up by nine in the fourth before Shump, who was playing the point, took a seat. Two minutes later it was a tie game.

What worries me is at the end of that game on the inbound play 4 of our guys where running around after John wall and left one man open under the basket and one open on the 3 point line. Any other team would have lobbed that up to either one and that's a easy basket and we go home with a lost. how do you leave two guys wide open on the inbound? 3 guys following John Wall around really? and he still got the shot off and it almost went in.

Awesome. The radio mics must have been in a homer section.

They needed a 3 to tie....Who cares if they are open for a layup. Thats smart defense. An open 3 is a different story....I didn't see that!
