The guy is 40% of what he was physically 2 years ago--he'll never be the same---he couldve been the best player in the game or darn close to it.

Gotta credit Nate some. Rondo was exhausted after playing 36 or 37 minutes straight to start the game, was visibly sagging out there. Doc risked buying him some time to start the 4th and Nate gave them 6 good minutes, scored 7 points, held them afloat until Rondo got back fresh

Edit update: just heard Doc single him out in postgame for a big lift during a time Rondo and Ray Allen were sagging

Nate played well and under control- got to give him credit. Nice hustle play going for a loose ball, too.

Strange that Nate plays much more under control and like a true PG--can't be the coaching??

Rondo was traded for a future first round draft pick Rudy Fernandez which was traded for cash to Portland by D'AnToni. He probably didn't want to have to play a BAD ROOKIE. Not to mention Goran Dragic got busy one time or another in the playoffs himself.

there were a number of keys to that game last night, but certainly among them was how poorly artest played and how many minutes he had to log because odom couldn’t stay on the floor with all that fouling.

either that or actually having proven all-stars on the team to keep him in line.

A major topic of conversation amongst our group was how pathetic it was for D'ivatoni to embarrass Nate like he did.

Look, I understand that Nate can be a handful and he deserved to have the smackdown layed on him in a certain respect, but D'Antoni did him SO dirty. So dirty.

except for the fact that you guys are talking about the playoffs, in which Nate is playing 6 minutes per game and getting more DNP's per game than his last year in NY.

Dirty? Dirty is Boston sitting Nate so they can save a $1M, right?

Is Nate even playing PG, cause I can't tell. I blink and Nate is in and out of the lineup and I miss it.

TV ratings have been great for these first 2 games. They nearly tripled the hockey viewership last night head to head. Game 1 did a 10.4 national rating, game 2 did a 10.9, most watched first 2 games since 2004. Good for the league. Peaked as high as 15 last night in the 4th quarter. If this series remains competitive and lasts long the numbers could be nuts as the series goes on

Boston is trying to fit him in on a championship squad and he is playing behind a top-3 PG in the league. Despite that, Nate is still getting minutes in key, crunch time situations.

D'Antoni sat Nate for 13 straight games on an awful team, simply to humiliate him and cause drama.

He seems to be listening to Doc.

And c'mon, why else would you sit a perfectly healthy player, who is a major contributor on the team, 13 straight games unless you are trying to humiliate him?

Well, we havent heard a peep of trouble out of him in Boston, so the presumptive evidence is in my favor that he is listening to Doc.

And are we really going to try and say that the reason D'Antoni sat Nate is because he wasnt playing D? I though D'Antoni gave out Christmas bonuses for no D, not punishments.

so nada, you don't watch the knicks, and I am guessing you don't really follow Boston either.

Im really looking forward to tonight. This series/rivalry always has a much different feel when they play in Boston, much more rabid and heated atmosphere and I prefer it more there than at Staples. Big game, when series is tied 1-1 in NBA finals 2-3-2 format history the game 3 winner has won the series all 10 times
