These are exceptions, not the rule. There are others but it definitely seems if they stash for any developmental reason other than a contract buy out - and don’t come over immediately, there is a sharp dropoff in whether they join the NBA at all.

Ginobli 30 years ago. These two guys are not at all relevant to what happens today in the NBA.

Ginobli literally came into the NBA not only before the iPhone, Google and YouTube but like during AOL dialup and AltaVista. Before the Euro, before Y2K and before 9/11.
