Can live with it as long as it adds a number to the Win column.

I was not feeling good about getting a W for most of the game, and we did.

Ugly, but it still counts.

1) Congrats to Melo for surpassing the great Larry Legend all-time in points. He was one of my favorite players growing up. Quite a feat.

2) Outstanding game from Rolo. He has been playing much better but his type of play tonight will earn him the contract we gave him. Such high energy from him.

3) With Lance out, D Will had his coming out party in this game with extended crunch time minutes finally earning a bigger role on this team.

4) We are a much better team when Gallo closes out games. Gallo plays solid defense, attacks the rim and makes clutch shots.

5) Melo playing his most efficient basketball of his career. The way he was finding teammates for 3's sniper style was amazing.

6) We're .500 bitches!

Owes everyone who played in OT a Porzingis jersey, IMO.

The Knicks really need Thomas to round out their rotation. Its time to trade Seraphin for loose change and get another wing defender. Maybe bring up Atkins? from westchester

KP made a rookie mistake. He'll need time to learn how to not always foul. But he's an aggressive defender. I like that. We always love an aggressive player on offense, but the great defenders were aggressive on defense as well. Once the refs give him some love and respect, along with him improving his defensive IQ, he's going to be a heck of a defender. The Jazz crew were constantly talking about how tough it was for their perimeter guys to blow by him or shoot over him. Hayward was in a tough spot, and KP needed to stay low a little longer. Lots of video tape for him to watch and just experience to get past that.

Also thought KP deserves props for playing through an injury.

I'm amazed at how good the Knicks frontcourt is this year. Melo with 30, Lopez with 22, DWill with 18 and KP with 16. 86 points from the front court.

Our backcourt continues to be a weakness outside of Afflalo/Calderon. And in the case of Calderon when it comes time for us to match up with an athletic team, he's a major liability. We definitely would greatly benefit from a reliable guard who can knock down some shots or create some good offense.

This game got out of hand when the bench came in early in the 1st half and just couldn't score. It really killed momentum. Most of it was Grant and Galloway making some poor plays consecutively. I guess you could say not having Lance hurt, as Lance knocks down shots. However I really feel if we got a guard that could give us what Calderon/Afflalo do for the starters - only for the bench would go a long way for this team.

yeah definetly a mistake but its tough to get on KP. He is a good defender and smart for a player his age. Fisher gets part of tge blame by not having them foul earlier and having kp out there at all with his bad foot nas 5 fouls

Yeah it's crazy how bunched up things are getting. I can't remember a season with this much parity.

Wow.

They are 2 wins less than what Chicago has (24) and 3 wins less than 3rd seeded Atlanta. I think we can compete with both teams and have shown that (3-3 in the season so far against Chi/Atl). This isn't about just making the playoffs. The team has enough talent to compete and beat any of the teams in the East, outside of Cleveland. However many of the players are young or not as consistent in certain elements as we'd like - such as Porzingis, Grant, Galloway, Derrick Williams. KP is likely the most consistent of those 4 and lately DWill has been, but our season is basically dependent on those young guys playing up to their potential. Because we already know what we'll get from Lopez, Melo, Afflalo, Calderon and Thomas. It's Porzingis (can be a superstar on offense and lockdown defensive presence at times) Williams (can be a 6th man of the year type) Grant (can be a solid point guard that penetrates a defense and defends) and Galloway (can be a 2-way scoring guard) that we just don't know if they can give you that level on a nightly basis.

For instance tonight Porzingis and Williams showed up, but Galloway/Grant weren't good enough most of the game. We're real close to getting up there in the East, but until we get some consistent production from the 4 guys I mentioned (Grant/Galloway in particular) I don't know how much better than .500 or so type of ball we can play.

A number of the teams we never believed we could compete against for a playoff spot are showing some signs of instability and weakness.

Miami, Bulls, Pacers, Toronto, Atlata...none of these teams are elite. They are good, but no way they are great- and you get the feeling that we can compete with these guys.

fisher's postgame is very important tonight.
knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

I like the optimism. I think Calderon is our weak spot I don't mind him as a backup 2 but at PG it hurts the team.
