One of only three teams to win the first two on the road and I'd say we did it against heavy odds.

I'm so happy to see our franchise finally rise to the top, but that joy comes with an overall distaste for modern NBA politics.

The gambling influence has contaminated the sport and it is becoming rare to see well officiated games. Whether there is corruption among the league office and the referees, I'll leave to more committed conspiracy addicts, but all the same the product on the floor feels tainted.

If anything, that feeling of defying the shadowy elements of the game may make these wins even sweeter.

The NBA though is not what it used to be and that is not just nostalgia talking. I can understand people giving up on modern sports these days.

I just want to seal the deal now. Our squad has earned this and nobody will be able to take that away from them.

That sequence of calls were what I called the sandbagging of KAT to give Wemby a chance

THE ONLY FCKING REASON THE SPURS WERE ABLE TO RALLY WAS BECAUSE THE REFS REMOVED KAT FROM THE GAME.

Otherwise, this would never have been close in the first place

I once watched a zebra foal being born at the zoo and it was amazing, but in spite of that FUCK THE ZEBRAS!

One I didn't see during the game but is on the net is that last scrum which awarded the Spurs the ball calling the Knicks for last touching out of bounds. Video pretty clearly captures Kornet kicking the ball away from a Knick ready to pick up the missed FT.

I love it and hope people continue the roasting and to call out the refs and league for the BS

All we ask is a consistent whistle. Period.

I refer you to Castle and Dylan Harper.
Its not about being a second year player. If he had the talent, he'd play

Kolek has talent, but you're comparing him to top 3 picks, those guys are the exceptions and the Spurs are in the finals because they hit on those picks. I said coaches aren't going to trust MANY 2nd year players in these games. Kolek isn't ready, just like it took Deuce a few years. But lets not forget we don't win the cup against this same team without Kolek.

yea he was playing great ball in real minutes when we picked up gta. i don’t think it’s unreasonable to assume he would have continued his progression if he had still been getting significant minutes from then to now

Lest anyone forget

Great games by OG and Bridges

NOTE: Deuce's ball handling has been disastrous. We've got issues with protecting the ball when he's on the floor with Alvarado

On point. We need to refine deuces role

I know I'm a broken record about Kolek, but he's a better shooter than Alvarado and he's much better ball handler than either of them and our offense typically locks in when he's on the floor. We really need to pair one of those two with Kolek, but the two of them should never be on the floor together. I'd even prefer Clarkson to handle the ball over GTA and Deuce.

It is my only remaining complaint, because otherwise Brown deserves all the compliments in the world for getting us to play elite ball at both ends of the court.

Don't disagree on Kolek part BUT thought Jose has been solid last 2 games.

Hell we were rolling until Brown subbed most of starters back -- think it was Jose/Deuce/Mikal/Shamet/Mitch where lead was around 10 and then we subbed and slubbed rest of way.

Think Kolek is going to be a LEGIT problem next year.

Jose has been a bit better this series than the earlier series. He's OK. As long as he doesn't turn it over I can live with him since we're here, we're lit and this team is the sh!t

Saying he’s a bit better maybe true but he still stinks as a pg. he honestly never creates a shot for someone, picks up his dribble at strange spots, can’t shoot, and is too small. For sure he provides energy but twice in this playoffs (McCollum and champagnie) he’s poked a bear that almost bit us in the rear. I will concede his teammates like him and chemistry is our super power. On merit Kolek should be playing instead of Jose especially when brown is sending out Jose w McBride Who I like but not as a pg

Yes, Kolek + Deuce is the right combination

Yes Kolek is a better PG on offense than deuce but Kolek can’t stop a cold.

Jose, deuce, shamet, Mikal and Mitch. This is our best defensive lineup off the bench. Brown is a smart coach who understands that defense wins championships even though deuce handle is suspect. But that’s not new, his defense and scoring is why he’s on the floor. Jose shot is streaky but his tenacity on defense is infectious.

Kolek can not match these guys defensive energy right now. If he wants playing time under this coach, he needs to get stronger this summer and work on his defense otherwise he will be in the same position next season. Cheering from the bench.

Why are you saying Jose is a better defender? I disagree but am all ears

He was sagging off champagnie in game 1 gambling as some unneeded help defender. He talks trash that he can’t back up, and though energy is infectious he sulks whenever he’s taken out. He’s more of a mascot than a contributor IMO

Kolek needs to work on defense for sure but two points. (1) the biggest issue is whether he is net positive. Does he help more on offense than he hurts on defense. And IMO he does because our team actually has flow w him running the point. (2) particularly against SA I’m less worried about his defense if it means that SA focuses on attacking Kolek rather than feeding wemby

Kolek started the season needing to improve his defense and somewhere in the second month of the season he did just that.

Having watched all of the games I can say with certainty that after that point Kolek worked strenuously to stay IN FRONT of his man to prevent penetration and he was succeeding 80-90% of the time. His defense was on par with Brunson's and JB's defense improved this year too.

My impression of the average comment about Kolek is most people formed an initial impression of him and have dismissed him since then. He has evolved but you wouldn't know from most comments here.

The franchise made a decision about Alvarado, plain and simple. Kolek was doing well and then he got sent to Siberia when GTA arrived due to no fault of his own. Jose is a far more flawed player than Kolek who has excellent fundamentals as a floor leader.

Acquiring Jose determined Kolek's fate, not his ability. People can debate which player is better, but Kolek did not get demoted due to his failings.

Blue, I admire you undying devotion and fandom of Kyler Kolek. Teen Idol looks aside, he is talented but with everything that has come together and advantaged earned you simply can't ignore what GTA has bough to the team warts and all. That pesky, shot in the arm, little Rican dude that will put a shank in your ass stare you like he crazy vs. the dreamy hair flowing Kolet is stark difference.
I think given the circumstances and outcome Alvarado was the proper call. Cant argue results. Not that GtA is putting in stats to debate but he is an ingrediant to the final results.
But.... Kolek has demonstrated at times a good command of the offense and there are some really big decisons to make.
LIke we running it back in total or do a small retool to come back even better year after? let tyler and mo get some time and perhaps make trades?
Its a cold thought with love running so high for that team.

Spurs still riding off the prestige of the 2000's and early 2010's. Mitch Johnson seems like a nice enough guy, but Greg Popovich he is not.

Not only that, but if the Spurs didn't intentionally foul JB on the previous possesion, they would not be in the penalty, and the Knicks would not have had those free throws which won the game.

I appreciate GTA's spunk even if sometimes he over-yaps.

You can always argue with results my friend, but that's why I included a balancing comment that, Kolek aside, Coach Brown deserves all the accolades coming his way. He has done what he was brought in to do. And we can agree that is still what matters most.

KAT's passing opened up our offense. That's the bigger story right now.

We'll circle back to Tyler next season. For now, all hands on deck, Game 3 loading, brooms warming up.

Watching a replay of the game. WOW were the refs bad in this one. If we hadn’t won this game I’d be going nuts. This team refuses to lose. All Knicks love here. I’m feeling good about our chances.

In the NBA, a True Shooting Percentage (TS%) of 57% to 58% is considered league average, 59% to 60% is good, and anything above 62% is elite. TS% measures a player’s overall scoring efficiency, giving equal weight to 2-pointers, 3-pointers, and free throws.
