That was a long and at times odd interview. I wonder why agents let these kids talk to the media like this. These kids aren't media savvy and often the media doesn't help them to look good. It's almost like they relish eccentricity. WCS is a different cat so it's easy to come off weird.

I still like his game for the Knicks. It all depends on the circumstances on draft night. We'll see who falls and what offers other teams make to the Knicks. Everyone has their favorites in this draft. For me...

WCS
Russell
Okafor
Winslow

i couldn't read it. what he has to say is so un-interesting. i got hung up on how he says he has this great offensive game, but just never used it. he never used it b/c, ya know, just b/c he never did.

for comparison, Towns shot mostly from the perimeter in high school but was mostly a low post guy his 1 year at Kentucky (from what I understand)... is this true?

Pretty much. Towns is still actually working on his post game. He came on strong at the end but he wasn't exactly Okafor in the post most of the year. He's looking like he'll eventually be really great in the post as well as away from the basket. Calipari wasn't as devoted to Towns as the focal point of the offense like Okafor, but he was definitely trying to get the kid a prime spotlight.

WCS was often left with the scraps in their offense IMO. WCS confidence was easily shaken IMO. I don't think his teammates were actually looking for him on offense enough either. WCS needs a clear role and consistent touches IMO. He can't beg off if he misses a couple of shots. If you look at his games he would have good games when he hit shots early but you'll notice some 1 for 4 and 1 for 5 type games that show he gave up early and his teammates also stopped going to him. Then you'll see games where WCS had a good number of shots, really good numbers and was confident.

Stein did not say anything that could hurt him in the draft. He would love to be a Knick and has always has a hidden offensive game which he was not asked to showcase in Kentucky; that is all.
Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)
