that switch by Fields and Shump before the inbound started disrupted their last play almost entirely - and no foul on shump, he fought legally over that screen by Noah where they crashed

Heads up play by Shump. He was guarding Rose, then right before the inbounds, he called over to Fields to switch as if he knew the screen was coming. Very heads up play by the rook.

This is exactly what this team needed. A tough win against the best team, that keeps us right there in the race for the Atlantic and ahead of the Bucks. Just a perfect win.

i HAVE A FEW THINGS TO SAY:

1) Shumperts defense on rose was exceptional.. pretty much let rose dance and flip and spin and summersault his way around the perimeter, but he stayed in front of him, cut off his right hand and forced him into bad shots... man on man defense shump was a stud.. kid should make an all defense team.. real talk..

2) tyson chandler all of the hustle plays and defense... the tip outs on that winning possession were huge

3) No excuses.. play with what you have.. no amare, no lin.. Ok, you can compete, you have chandler, melo, smith, shump, we have guys that can win.. again, what are your expectations... honestly for me, I expected this win!!

4) JR finally hit a few big shots in OT..

5) Melo... I have to give it up, guy made all the big shots, all of them, played like a star player today.. answered the bell when we needed.. Yea, he took 31 shots, but we needed it, we had guys bricking.. I only noticed a few forced shots, but again, he was hitting the open man and they were missing...

6) hey I guess things really don't change.. rose choked at memphis at the FT line, he choked today...
Melo delivered in big games at cuse , he delivers again.. LOL.. ok, Ok, I know it is a stretch, but I love how it played out.... haha

my scrub of the night? mike breen.... " melo taking a shot vs a6'9 guy".... really mike? really? what the heck do you expect him to do mike? pass to the guy shooting 4-15 so he can shoot over a guy 3 inches taller than him? wow.... get breen out of here..

last but not least.. Gutsy win... GUTSY.... that is the fight I like to see...
