I like what I saw with JR in this game. I did not like the signing but if JR can do this then we are going to be really dangerous.

Yeah but he's looked 60 years old for about 1 year now.

Let's be honest here, it is just half of this season

I'm not worried about Amare (on offense, anyway). He was playing better in the weeks before his brother's death. Once he and Lin develop some chemistry, he'll be fine.

Lol. JR hits contested fadeaways at a higher clip than Shump and Fields hit wide open jumpers. Thing is, he can get off a fadeaway ANYTIME. Which means he can create his own offense and hit it at a good percentage regardless of how the defense plays him.

So much is made of the 7 TOs, those were almost negated by 5 steals today.
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

the guy played all game and was double teamed all game. also notice nobody came to the ball. he stil had 28 pts which is very tought to do for anybody against dallas when they are doubling you

Not saying he didn't have a good game. I just wouldn't be too dismissive of the high number of turnovers.

ya that true but he still abused one of the best teams in the league who probably doubled him more than any player this season

The turnover rate comes from a combination of a lot of different things...

1. Lin being a rookie.
2. Usage rate: Through Lin's first seven starts only two players in the league have a higher usage rate, or percentage of time they touch the ball, and are more efficient than Lin: LeBron James and Kobe Bryant.

Lin's turnover rate falls right in line with other elite players at the point guard position, like Steve Nash. The point is simple. The basketball metrics don't bear out that there should be a large concern with Lin's turnovers. Of course, you always hope they go down and they will as he gets better.

only saw the first quarter because unfortunately i had to go see Chicago on Broadway. listened til halftime in the car, i got the game dvr'd. seems like mr. lin took over. great to see novak had a big game in addition to JR, shows novak doesn't wanna lose his spot in the rotation. heard JR drill those first 3 3's on the radio, maybe he's not such a bad addition afterall....

I saw about three bad shots but thats me. Is it any different than Shump's bad shots? The difference is one is a better shooter. You are right that he is known for taking bad shots.

I like JR as our 6th and his role on last few minutes to space out the lane. He is taking over Shump minutes if Shump can't be better with his jump shots. I don't like how he likes to dribble for 1:1. I rather he takes the novak catch and shoot or quick dribble and shoot.

For the most part, JR will be taking Bill Walker's minutes which is a step up. When Baron is ready, Shump will lose some or all of his minutes.

Also Lin being trapped killed alot of time on the shot clock. Melo shuld help with that but we still have alot of work to do.

we got amare involved but he wasn't playing today lol. I agree melo should love this because they are doubling lin now. Lin gets doubled and still ends up with 28 pts and 14 dimes thats insane

Lin took 20 shots tonight.

And? he had 28 pts and 14 dimes. he abused one of the best defensive teams in the NBA and he didn't even rest

We need Lin to get Amare the ball in the right spots.

Knicks pulled out he win with a hot shooting 4th quarter. I will take the win but lets not act like we were getting great PG play.

11-20? are you kidding me? that's sounds like a great shooting night to me...

Our role players have really done a tremendous job the.past two weeks. Jefferies has really played incredibly well and the team looks much better when he's on the floor. Novak continues to impress with his shooting and we suddenly look very deep.

Amare is going to a big problem. Anyone who doesn't think so isn't watching the games. He is one of.the worse defenders I have eve seen. Doesn't know how to help or box out and is lazy. Last season it didn't matter, but he's got no legal, explosion and looks like aa marginal rotation guy this season. He just isn't moving well. He's slow on the pick and roll and the amnesty may come back tonhauny this team.

That said should be interesting to see Melo and Davis back this week.

10 TO ?

Lin may get a quadruple double

Ouch! Let's hope that TO stat doesn't hit double figures. Against a hot Dallas team, the Knicks margin for error is that much smaller.

It would be great for Lin to have another career game today, though.

Looks like I was off on my prediction.

28 pts
14 assists
4 rebounds
5 steals
1 block
7 TOs

This is on 55% shooting.

I'm glad you were off on that call. lol Lin will get the good type of triple doubles when he lowers the TOs and grabs a few more boards.

Well, I asked for another career game from Lin, and with the 14 assists, that's exactly what he gave us, while helping this team win a nationally televised statement game... Against the defending champs, no less.

The optimism is in full swing now, and what was once a light at the end of the tunnel was the sunshine the Knicks are just starting to enjoy. There will be some bright, happy, successful days for this team in the future.

KNICKS, baby!

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!
