sold em... I have about 15 games left not including post season. I'm spoiled at this point. I only go to playoffs, Mets, Red Sox and a few others. I used to do the 40 game plan. Then I just did the full 82 and got a couple of people to buy in with me, so we pretty much div them up evenly. I go to about 15-20 a year now and 3-4 playoff games.

i'll be at the Red Sox game on 9/9 too...where are your seats at? mine are in the RF main box by the foul pole.

any chance u have any extra tix you want to sell for the Mets series at the stadium?

TMS,
I don't appreciate your sarcasm. I didn't say a word on this subject, and you attacked me. Careful...you are dealing with someone way above your minor league mentality level. But, since you started this......2004.......what happened?
How does it feel to support a team that are now listed as the greatest chokers in the history of sports?
I don't dwell in the past and I wasn't alive in 1919. The curse is broken and it is actually reversed. The Red Sox, their organization, and their loyal fans are (in class and love of the game) head and shoulders above the Yankees. We are having fun and your team (with the exception of Torre, Jeter and Matsui) is a bunch of high-priced underproducing losers. The Red Sox nation is flourishing and getting stronger. The Yankees are the absolute worst team that 200+ million can buy...run by a clueless, controlling over-the-hill eccentric whose days at the top are over. Get used to losing to us.
Theo is the man; Cashman is a castrated figurehead controlled by a man that knows NOTHING about baseball and talent.
Remember 2004? Just a preview of your worst nightmare. Please quit your whinning. Your team s*cks and we are WORLD CHAMPIONS.
Case closed.
We will NEVER win with Marbury as our cameo guy.

Let's see how you finish up the season before you start throwing around the crap. Boston is 3 games ahead...definately not what one might call an insurmountable lead.

But they have 1 world series win every 80+ years. They'll get another one in around 2090!

it was actually just some lighthearted trashtalking, RSR...didn't realize you were so sensitive...loosen up that bleached out & worn Boston cap.

coincidentally, they are also known as the greatest winning franchise in the history of sports...nothing i'm ashamed of.
The Red Sox, their organization, and their loyal fans are (in class and love of the game) head and shoulders above the Yankees.

i tip my hat to red sox fans & how loyal they are to their team...i wish some Yankee fans would be the same way instead of some of the bandwagon jumpers we have rooting for our team...but to say your fans are head & shoulders above Yankee fans in terms of class? spare me dude...we're not the ones who got into a fight in the bullpen w/another player during a postseason game...we're not the ones who took a cheap swipe at a player while he was trying to field a ball in play & then threw beer at him...is that what you define as class?
We are having fun and your team (with the exception of Torre, Jeter and Matsui) is a bunch of high-priced underproducing losers.

umm...Tino, Stanton, Jorge? oh, & there's a guy by the name of Mariano Rivera who i think sorta knows something about winning too...& since you want to bring up Torre, Roy White has a WS ring on his finger, Luis Sojo has 4, Reggie Jackson who works w/the team has 2 w/the Yankees...& if you don't have any respect for the type of player Don Mattingly was in his prime, i don't know what to tell ya...i guess you could call Ted Williams a loser too while you're at it.
The Yankees are the absolute worst team that 200+ million can buy

i agree whole heartedly with you there.
...run by a clueless, controlling over-the-hill eccentric whose days at the top are over.

that i can't agree with...George is the best owner in all of sports & every team would kill to have a guy as dedicated to winning & giving his fans a championship calibre team year after year...there are owners with alot more money who own professional sports franchises who don't invest even a fraction of what George does for his own fans...6 WS titles & turned a $10 million dollar investment into a $1.6 billion dollar franchise...yeah, he's clueless.
Get used to losing to us.

again, i bow to your far superior knowledge on the subject...can you offer your kind words of wisdom here?
Theo is the man; Cashman is a castrated figurehead controlled by a man that knows NOTHING about baseball and talent.

Theo is a great GM, i agree w/u there...

as for Cashman, he's made some great moves in his time here (Tino Martinez, Jeff Nelson, Luis Sojo in '96...David Wells, Mike Stanton in '97...Chuck Knoblauch, Scott Brosius, Orlando Hernandez in '98...Roger Clemens in '99...David Justice in '00)

& he's made some horrible ones, especially of late (Steve Karsay, Jeff Weaver, Jose Contreras (who btw, the Red Sox were also hot after), Kevin Brown, Felix Heredia, Gabe White, Jaret Wright, Jason Giambi).

oh, & that owner who knows nothing about baseball & talent was singlehandedly responsible for bringing Catfish Hunter, Reggie Jackson in during the late 70's who helped win us 2 consecutive world titles...he also chose to bring in Hideki Matsui in '02 over the advice of his advisors who were advocating the Yankees to sign Cliff Floyd instead.
Please quit your whinning.

where was i whining?
Your team s*cks and we are WORLD CHAMPIONS.

can't argue with you there, but from the sound of your bitter post i don't think i'm dealing w/much of anything at all here...when did you become a baseball fan? just curious...i've been a fan of the Yankees since '76, so i know what it's like to root for a crappy team because i've stuck by this team all through the dark days of the late 80's & early 90's...i think you need to keep your generalizations to yourself...my "minor league mentality level"? sorry, i don't think so...before you talk some trash about the Yankees, try learning something about them first...it seems to me from your post that you're just another typical Yankee hater...correct me if i'm wrong.

this stuff is entertaining.

The Sox have the highest payroll of any team to ever win a title.
The Sox dont have a singe homegrown player that plays any kind of real role on that team. If you want to talk about "buying titles" lets start with the Sox.
The payroll arguement is an equally big joke. Your stadium holds 38,000. Ours 56,000. Our respective payrolls are about the same. Its funny how on the parade the Sox players were still focused on the Yankees.
I dont remember and tear gas or deaths after the Yankees won any of their titles.
Red Sox nation is indeed strong, but that team isnt. Its old, the pitching is suspect and Theo can ponder what would have been when the Sox dont make the post season and Pedro finishes with an ERA of under 2 and wins a Cy Young.

Hey... no doubt, you got your title. Great job. It was a great team, a great run and a great accomplishment. You got hot at the right time. It was a nasty thing to watch for Yankee fans. I can imagine how you felt when Aaron Boone hit the dinger in game 7 two years ago. Win 3 more, go to 6 world series in your next 8 years. Sorry but last year was tough to stomach 2004 was a blip on the radar for the greatest sports franchise ever. When your in it every year there's always a chance something bad can happen. great post fishmike, and believe it or not, right now as bad as the yankees are playing we are well within striking distance of taking control of this division.. Talk about chokers, I say the 86 red sox take that cake, I mean one friggin out is all they needed, not only did they choke that game but they laid down like dogs in game 7 vs the mets... Again the yankees were one game from winning the ALCS, the sox were 1 out from winning the world series, I say that is the biggest choke job in history..

I have to agree. While it pains me to say so the Sox simply outplayed the Yanks in the final 4 games. They got great pitching, timely hitting, Shrek was unstoppable, they scratched a run against Mo when they needed too, Foulke was unhittable... what can I say, the Sox were the better team. I dont see it was a choke. Letting a ball go through your legs is a choke.

Actually I 100% believe the Yankees will win the division again. Crack now all you want. This team has a lot of work but it will click. It always does.

yea fish, I agree, the yanks are losing games 2-1, 4-3, that is our hitting going cold, actually our pitching is fine, last night pavano was a stud, I mean on any other night the yanks score 4 runs easily... there are 104 games left, over the next 50 we will see a seperation of pretenders from contenders, the yanks staff is deep and healthy and good, despite what the fickle NY media says.. Boston is old, injured and their pen is a damn joke, I am not worried about boston at all... as long as the orioles pitching doesn't hold up we will be fine..
