it would be alot easier to be patient if you could see a definite plan of action being laid out & executed...just saying you want to get younger & more athletic & then bringing in guys like Vin Baker, Malik Rose, Mo Taylor, Bruno Sundov, Moochie Norris & extending KT makes you scratch your head & it's kinda hard to be patient when the same old cycle gets repeated every year.

i agree, it's all well and good to have jackie butler as our 12th man, but at a certain point we have to flat out get rid of guys like spoon, moochie, vin, mo, penny, even rose and KT, not just exchange them for marginally better dead end vets. we need to cut the dead weight from the roster, something to keep an eye on as the long contracts we've collected under layden and IT expire over the next few seasons.

eh, not really angry that Isiah traded away Nazr...he did get us 2 late 1st rounders for him, which can always be used in future trades...Malik's a good role player too...we just have too many damn PF's (sounds eerily similar to the Scott Layden era in that regard)

i just want to see some moves that follow a consistent line of thinking...stop w/all the hodgepodge of moves that dont' complement each other.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

I'll forgive the Nazr trade if we get a guy like Bynum or Randolph Morris at 30. If we can't get an upgrade for Nazr this year, it was a bad trade.

the Knicks were 16-13 and had played the NBA's easiest schedule of any team and were 100% healthy. Then they (like every team does) got nicked up a bit and folded like a cheap suit.
easiest schedule??? the start of our season was beast. we played minnesota, boston, philly, indiana, san antonio, dallas, and houston and these are 7 of the teams we played in the first ten games of the season. we came out of this 5-5. all those teams went to the playoffs. If everybody wasnt injured I can see us sitting at that # 7 spot

I remember thinking if we made it through November we'd be okay, but looking back the January schedule was BRUTAL. Also, losing Nazr and Crawford at the same time really hurt. (Nazr never stopped playing, but was never as effective after his double groin strain against Miami and Chicago)

Briggs posted a link to a web page calculating schedule difficulty based on winning percentage of opponent when we were 16-13. We were in the bottom 5; I don't remember exactly where we were. Cleveland was in the bottom 5 too, which might not make their subsequent downfall so shocking.

I remember Isiah saying he would be suprised if we were at .500 after the first 20 games. Then again he did say we were the second best team in the east. Hopefully we can get more pieces and have a productive season, atleast 44 wins., I dont think Isiah should get fired.

Isiah will get canned at some point if his vision gets too dammed expensive!

I can't say I hate the moves he has made given the circumstances, but he has had to overpay to do so, and at some point accountability must be recognized.

There have been far too many changes to ask would we have been better off with laydens rebuilding. Van Horn would have been off the books, as would Deke, Othella, and Lampe. That team would have sucked no doubt, but we would have drafted much higher last season, and could have been higher this year.

IM not saying we'd be better, but we'd be in a better postition now.

Way too many holes to speculate on, but it would be interesting to consider. Maybe last year we could have had a shot at Wade?
