I know we need a Center and if Isiah drafts Petro it would show me that Petro isfor real but until then we should draft the best player so we don't wind up drafting a raw stiff only cos he's 7ft. If Isiah thinks Petro is the best then he will take him! or if he thinks he's a still he'll take someone like Green or Taft

I have to respectfully disagree with you about drafting the best player available where we'll be picking. We have to draft for need right now. We're probably the smallest team in the league and we can't close out games because of our glaring weakness in the middle. We can't stop anybody. I love Granger but I don't think we should spend our lottery pick on him. I will make one adjustment to my statement and say that Butler can also be considered part of our future frontline...hopefully. Nevertheless, we have to draft for need at this time imo.

I'm not sure Petro will even be available at that pick (no one is) as we don't know what the kid will do in the pre draft camps. All I know is that he's 7'0", 240, and Nineteen years old with a quick first step, a decent handle with the ability to finish strong.

Questions for you Guns, if the Celtics drafted him and we didn't and he played as well as Al Jefferson has against us would that make him real enough?

but we have multiple needs. its not like adding a dalembert at best Center is going to make us an incredible team. If a top SG is available like Gerald Green then we must pick him over a potential stiff unless Petro really impresses. There's no guarantee that this draft will solve our need for a Center. We might be better off trading for a Center who is ready to play

Do you agree that our biggest need by far is at Center? If so do you agree that a solid Center will have much more of an effect on us than a solid Guard (considering our draft position)? If you use a scale of 1 to 10 how do you grade our needs at Center and guard?

Since Curry, Dalembert and/or Kwame, etc will not be availabe without having to give up the house we have to select from the draft. Isiah most likely feels the same way ala his European vacation of a few months ago Imo, our biggest need is by far at Center. If you feel differently then we have to agree to disagree

This is my plan. There are multiple ways we can address that need. We can get a center prospect in the 8 to 14 range and a decent high school center prospect in the 29 range. Trading Kurt for something resembling a late 1st rounder or a early early 2nd rounder can get another center prospect or a sleeper/guard that slides in the draft (i.e. Stoudamire). We can pick up a veteran guard with the mle much easier than we can a true qualtiy veteran center although Steven Hunter for the full mle is a decent stop gap.
