yeah, obviously players like Dalembert & Mark Jackson don't benefit at all from Iverson being on the court w/them. please.

if both Jackson and Dalembert played for the knicks, their stats would be better and the knicks would be much better than philly is now... I agree with bonn's point that marbs made nazy a better player, at least on paper for sure..

Iverson makes Dalembert better? How much *worse* than his 7.5 PPG would he really be playing with a different PG (one who didn't take 30 shots a game)?
Marc Jackson's stats were actually better in 2000-2001 (the only other year he got significant playing time).

uhm, you do know that both these guys play on the same team at the same position & it's Mark Jackson who's taking minutes & touches away from Dalembert, don't you?

Okay, so Mark Jackson's the one getting the minutes. Then why is Iverson NOT making him better? In comparable minutes in his ROOKIE year, Jackson put up better #s.

I was just asking you to list one player whose game Iverson elevated (and I was hoping you could actually defend the choice). The discussion's going nowhere because no one can pick one player and defend that pick.
While we're on the topic, I have a dental appointment tomorrow morning unfortunately. You wanna trade? I'd rather have it next week than tomorrow!

looks like Iverson & the Sixers are blowing out the defending champs tonight at halftime...i guess Iverson must be doing it all by himself since he doesn't make any of his teammates better.

I guess one good half makes up for consecutive years of being in the lottery now

riiiiight...Iverson's career averages don't mean a thing, nor does the fact that he's been to the NBA Finals, won scoring titles, won an MVP award, been to more Allstar games & putting up better stats this season to boot...btw, 39 & 10 tonight w/a broken thumb in a blowout of the defending champs...i guess Marbury's game against the Spurs was an example of him making his teammates better but Iverson's game wasn't somehow?

yes, they usually name players MVP that only put up good stats on bad teams, right Bonn? btw, what's the Knicks record this year? last i checked Iverson's team was doing better in the standings...i notice how you leave that little tidbit out when you make these little comments about Iverson's stats being overblown because he's playing on a bad team & not reflective of a player who makes his teammates better. seems to me stats only mean something to you when they support your argument while other times you dismiss their importance when they contradict your arguments. anyone else notice the same pattern here?

What does the MVP or finals stuff have to do with this? I already said that about 4 years ago Iverson was better than Marbury. You keep changing the subject. First it was Iverson Makes his teammates better. Then it was Iverson makes Dalembert and Jackson better. Then I pointed out that Dalembert's getting only 7 PPG and Jackson put up better #s as a rookie. Now we're talking about how awesome he was four or five years ago (which I NEVER disagreed with) when he won the MVP. Can you stick to one claim? How about the one claim that he makes his teammates better. Do you have any evidence for that?

the argument is that Iverson is a better player than Marbury right now...you said there's nothing that Iverson shows you that makes you believe that right now...every post i've been trying to explain to you just how much better he is than Marbury by posting his CURRENT stats, team's record, past achievements, etc...yet i'm the one switching the topic according to you.

Aaron McKie and Eric Snow have benefited greatly because of AI. Both got some really good contracts too. How about Marc Jacksons resurgence in Philly?

How about the fact that Marc Jackson put up better #s as a rookie than he's putting up now with Iverson (as I already stated in this thread)? Whenever McKie got minutes earlier in his career, he put up similar #s to what he put up with Iverson. It's hard to tell with Snow whether the increased #s were just a result of more playing or a result of playing with Iverson. You would normally expect a big man to benefit from playing with a playmaking guard like Iverson; not your team's PG, but it's possible he got a few more assists per game from playing with Iverson. That still doesn't compare to the deterioration of C Webbs game so far as soon as he joined Iverson, though.
