You gusy are too funny.

Solace gets flack for saying that the kid might not be anything, and that is jumping to conclusions.

You guys, who also never saw him play, claim he is the next Brand/Amare/Sweetney, blah, blah, blah.

Man, IT is so good for picking up some guy from the CBA. He must have had to beat like 35 teams to do that considering college teams would be after this awesome talent as well.

And man his pics, you are all ready to gizz all over them, this is just too funny.

Next thing you know IT will get WNBA player and you will all proclaim that this is a genius move.

If IT asks you to bend over will do that w/out a moment's thought either?

figured that would be your reaction since you have the same reaction to every single move Isiah makes. No one is saying he's going to be the next Amare. He's more on the chunky side but he can be a very nice project since he was tearing up the CBA at 19. We will find out pretty quick what he can bring

Say What?

"First off, a larger wingspan often evens out on a shorter player."

Solace - exactly what does that mean?

"Second of all, having longer arms won't help if you can't see over the player for a clear look at the basket. "

Solace - are you serious? Are you suggesting that a 6'10 Jackie Butler would have difficulty getting looks at the hoop?

Your alternate theories on wingspan leave me somewhat confused and searching for clarity.

Did Isiah just sign Weatherspoon to a 6 year contract?
Did he just extend Houston to a 6 year max pact at age 31, with no other suitors?
Did he trade Ewing for Rice, who he turned to Shandon and Eisley?
Did he draft Fred Weis?
Did he just trade a promising draft pick for Erick Strickland who turned to Othella Harrington?

What is wrong with talking about this kid? It's something exciting.....the kid is 19 and playing for the CBA. Lots of questions to be answered.

Isiah if anything has brought intrest back to the team and has given us true fans hope. He hasn't made a Laydumb move yet. Everything has been logical and he has proved he will continue to change if things aren't working but will make the right move not just make move to do them.....

I hope Jackie Butler can pull an Ariza.

According to an insider on the realgm board we are also going to sign Jermaine Jackson (PG who is a free agent out of the CBA). In the CBA he averaged close to 21 ppg, 12 apg, and 6 rpg.

Height/Weight: 6-5/204

Simrud... your wrong on this one. Nobody is saying this kid is saving the franchise. Its the philosophy. Giving a top rated 19 year old prospect with great potential the chance to prove himself and work hard is how diamonds in the rough are found. Ben Wallace and Brad Miller went undrafted. Do I think this kid is one of them? Does anyone here? I dont think so. I do know hoever you will never find a player like that if you not willing to give a young guy that probably made a bad decision a chance. 18/10/2 in the CBA may not wet your shorts but he is 19.

Does anyone remember what they were doing at 19? I quit college so I put greater focus on driving my van around and hooking up with as many hussies as I could. Maybe this kid has some fire and it didnt hit him until the Wolves cut him. You dont know

Does anyone know anything else about this Jermaine Jackson? Seems like he's putting up some nice #s albeit in the CBA. Anyone seen him play in the college or anything?

did you read this scouting report:
http://www.hoopshype.com/players/jermaine_jackson.htm

he's kinda old at 29. He put up big numbers in college and played for the Pistons in 99 but never did anything in the NBA. He problably doesn't have the right attitude for the NBA. If he was 20 and putting up those numbers then you could consider him a nice project but he's 29. But he should be fine as a backup/3rd string PG. I like the Butler move better since he's only 19. Now we have TT and JJ

it is like I said a couple times before, Isiah has been scouting and most of all, he has scouts all over the world that he is paying to search for talents. If he decides to give a kid a chance it is because he has seen some value in him. As for a backup PG, the kid that you have all mentioned has some pretty good stats, if he can score and dishes assits, oh well, be it.

Maybe in the summer league, Butler can play C, Sweetney and PF, and Rose can play SF. All Sweetney, all the time.

I'm not sayin this kid has no chance of being anything, but I'm also tired of people blindly praising everything IT does.

He has done a really bad job so far, and half the posters still act like he is some kind of messiah.

As for who I woudl like to replace him, that would be anybody who actually has positive expereince running a franchise, or anything for that matter. IT has done a miserable job in Toronto and the CBA, and now he screwing over NY.

I just want have somebody who runs a team conventionally and does not try to be a hero and act like he knows something nobody else does.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

i dont think malik will be in the SL, hes a vet my friend! the malik trade was a good trade, and the pick up of Butler was like a free 1st round pick.

This move probably means nothing more than our scouts saw this kid and thought he merited a closer look. We might get lucky and he'll stick, although the odds are, he won't. We did get John Starks from the CBA.

"He has done a really bad job so far, and half the posters still act like he is some kind of messiah."

Simrud - wrong, some posters are willing to allow him more than 14 months to do his job. If you prefer the quick hook, who's your replacement?

"I just want have somebody who runs a team conventionally"

Simrud - What does "conventionally" mean"

"and does not try to be a hero and act like he knows something nobody else does."

Simrud - finally, now you understand why the haterade drinkers follow your misguided attempts to smear Isiah personally. Those remarks are only a result of your fears and biases. Does NOT try to be a hero?

All he's talked about is winning a championship and building a better team.

Why is that such a crime?

I read somewhere that Brad Miller actually tried out and was cut by the Knicks in 1998....I can't find the article, but not for lack of trying...

I heard they couldnt sign him because they were too busy adding more zero's to Allan Houston's contracts.
