Something about this guy screams, Yinka Dare. I don't know what it is, I know that is unfair but when a team just let you go and cites "I hope you will realize your potential one day" that is bad. The Bobcats are saying that is ok to a kid that they were just marketing a couple months ago as a can't wait. I remember them talking about this kid before last year's draft saying how if Orlando took Emeka, Howard would fit in with Jamal Sampson. Now just to waive him. Bernie hates injuries I know this from his days back in Denver but he also likes young talents.

Charlotte Bobcats center Jamal Sampson is accused of assault and battery
in
a lawsuit filed last month in Southern California.

The lawsuit says Sampson shoved and kicked a former roommate, Christian
Straughter, causing him to suffer a concussion and other injuries in
February. The suit also accuses Sampson of later threatening Straughter,
in
an attempt to keep the alleged attack secret.

Sampson couldn't be reached for comment Tuesday. His agent, Jerome
Stanley,
called the lawsuit "a classic shakedown by a jealous former friend."

Sampson, 21, a 6-foot-11, 235-pound center, played for the Los Angeles
Lakers last season. The Bobcats chose him in the NBA expansion draft in
June, and coach-general manager Bernie Bickerstaff has expressed
excitement
over Sampson's potential.

This lawsuit could serve as the first test of the Bobcats' firm policy on
player behavior. Team owner Bob Johnson promised in the summer of 2003
that
his players would never embarrass Charlotteans.

Sampson has his share of legal problems and injuries, but he's still worth a look. The man is 6'11" and averaged 5 rebounds in like 8 minutes this year. He's also very active. Under Mark Agguire's tutelage, he could be very good. I would still hope Zeke takes a look.

But that doesn't matter. Remember, the CEO of MSG called H20, "one of the finest examples of a human being and a basketball player" when he gave him his contract extension. According to the CEO, he wept when Charlie Ward was traded because his character. For all Zeke talk about getting Griffin and Robinson, I wonder how hard he went to bat. I mean Vin Baker had to meet with Dolan and discuss his drinking issues, he reports to him directly whether he is going to AA meetings on schedule. Look up and down this roster, the only trouble guy went any real checker history is Marbury, and his stuff is just dui junk. Dolan doesn't like trouble guys with legal problems. I still remember when that stuff about Ewing and that Knick City Dancer came out and MSG went nuts. Making sure that the players don't even talk to dancers. Plus Dolan was fond of Rita Ewing. It is funny but James Dolan does run this team like it is pet project. Picking guys he like to socialize with, and their families. I mean it is his team but man...

I am all the way in Germany right now and I still find time to post a few words on this subject....Isiah will be a fool for not trying to get this kid. He is young and can still grow to be a hell of a player....

Give him a chance, he is very affordable....

it worries me that Isiah doesn't evaluate bigs as well as guards
especially with the draft coming up!
