We don't have many options but I'd keep that spot open and let Trey Jemison and Liam Robbins battle it out at camp. Wouldn't mind Nick Richards but he's likely out of our price range. It's the 3rd string Center so it's not that big of a deal. https://basketnews.com/news-252338-lakers-join-heat-and-knicks-in-race-for-free-agent-center.html Perhaps you can share where you got that $7-8mil figure from? |

A couple things to keep in mind with Richards, he’s a CAA client so that naturally connects him to the Knicks more than normal. He is also a NY/ NJ athlete who played for Coach Cal at Kentucky. These are the 3 things (outside of Nova) that have traditionally connected a player to the Knicks front office. So I actually find it odd he hasn’t landed on the Knicks at this point. He had been previously connected to them but it may have always been speculation due to these factors. Maybe they simply dont want him. He got into a fight last year with Alvarado. Maybe there’s some personality fit concerns. Not really sure, but part of me feels like if the Knicks wanted him he would already be a Knick. |
