Thoughtful answer. He's very well-spoken. I imagine some people expected him to lynch James Dolan as a capitalist pig, but he did handle it well considering he's not in the business of reforming the NBA.

I don't agree with his socializatoin economics as dipicted in his campaigns but I do agree he speaks well and did a great job answering a question I don't think is relevant for the mayor to be challanged on. Globally sports teams and ticket prices are the playground for the rich and perhaps irresponsible fans who blow money they don't really have. Here in the USA we have the right to choose and for many personal financial responsibilities are not handled very well by many.
That aside this is not the issue for the Mayor. Its also supply and demand. Prices go up as fans are insatiable buyers. Factor in the corperate purchase of season tickets it makes them even scarcer.
But, its not like we are blacked out of watching games and league pass is not very expense (compared to NFL!). Also, not like we hace 19inch tv's anymore. TV's are not as expensive as in the past and one can get a nict unit and enjoy wonderful high def broadcasts far bettr than "In the good old days"!

I have not always enjoyed attending live sports events as much as a well produced broadcast. Naturally, attending a pivotal playoff game beats watching it on TV for sheer energy and belonging to the moment, but otherwise I'll leave it to the super rich to spend $10,000 on a ticket.

Being a Knicks fan is the Mayor's primary role to play and he did just that.
