Wish I had taped the game, Knicks played their full complement of young guys

https://gleague.nba.com/game/wcb-vs-wes-2022500199?view=box-score

McCullar, Dadiet, Jemison, Pate, Bryson Warren
Dillion Jones, Huk, Mo

Strangely, Mo had worst game by stats

Yep. They’ve been working in that with him. And I’ve read that they like this long term for Huk.

I was on the Huk train and recently I felt he was stalling in his development, but I was being a little hasty if this is what is happening.

It is possible to turn a big into a shooter even when they have no natural talent for scoring at mid-range. Plus, he can become a competent rim runner and back door man. He should be a guy you can run the PnR play with regularly as he seems to naturally understand spacing most of the time.

He looked good in the 4th today when he was put in to give Mitch a rest.

I've been talking about frontline depth so there is always someone to patrol the paint and it may be Huk is that depth after all. He was altering shots today.

Different paths but Mitch really didn’t become competent until his 5th year by comparison. All these guys need time.

Huk looks like he added a lot of upper body strength and still needs a lot more lower body leverage. That shot looks decent. And he has feet that dance and move.

Its the modern NBA, nearly everyone has to stick an open 3 the way that defenses run. It makes sense to work on this. Huk flashed way more offensive skill last year before his injury than this year. Its been dissapointing that he has been spotty, but he has still had a lot of impact games on the boards/defense. Walking into the Philly game cold in the 4th he played really well defensively.

It was nice show-out for Huk. Rebuilt my confidence he can be a factor in our rotation going forwards.

We need every intimidator in the rotation we can get.

Feel like this is the first in a long time where I’d feel comfortable saying the Knicks have some very interesting long term projects that all got potential to fill. Whether they get there or not, to me, is entirely different story. But they are there in full force: Huk, Mo, McCullar, Kolek, Dadiet. Besides Dadiet, all have had a moment or 2 in NBA games that popped and showed us the potential. They do fit the level and just need to learn to be consistent at it and learn the NBA.

Knicks have 4 draft picks in this upcoming draft which is supposed to be historically deep. Early 20s, 31, and 2 50 picks. Same as Dadiet, Kolek, and 50 spots for McCullar, Mo, Huk.

McCullar looks like a rotation player to me and potentially an elite stopper.

Mo was an amazing pick. Just goes to show what good draft picking can do anywhere in draft position.

I'm a firm believer in Kolek and hope he stays in their plans. Another excellent 2nd round pick.

Huk seems to be sticking around so far.

Having a set of picks in a deep draft can really set this franchise on a solid path if they pick as well as they recently have.

Unfortunately, I've lost any feeling for Dadiet's potential. Other than hitting a handful of threes as a rookie he has not done anything to stand out like the other four have. I think he may be traded or be heading back to Europe if he doesn't show some fire.

How have you gotten your feel for the kid though? Unless you breaking down the last few WestChester games, it's impossible.

Dadiet is a mystery to me. But I'm not in the practices either.

Dadiet playing basketball. That's a new thing. I've only seen him in garbage time until now.

Still not an elite shooter that he can be but the dribble drives look nice and the athleticism looks like it is starting to come around.

His off ball stuff looks legit

at 6-14 our Gleague kind of sucks. I get these are nice videos but they don't win the games.
Does that even matter?
Don't we discount this kind of high volume scoring as Empty?
