That he only lasted a season before grabbing the Bucks job was a bad look but that was 9 years ago. That he jumps ship in Dallas after being extended might not look good for him. If Dallas wants a new guy to grow with moving from a short window now they have a potential cornerstone player that might be different. One might guess given the circumstances Dallas could have another window opening if the pieces all fell in place. Kyrie, AD and Flagg perhaps the year after next could be the path. Kyrie has a team option this year at 43mil, at 33 year old and an injury that often requires a year to heal and sometimes a year to get back to where he was. This assumes no other complications or injuries. 43mil is a big nut for a small player at that age. Kyrie was great for them. But we talking about Kyrie who has those voices in his head. My point is Dallas could move AD and go for a reboot. I'd think teams looking to make a package for Giannis like the Rockets might find AD very gettable at the right price. Won't come cheap, but Dallas can pivot.

BTW, I should have put Sam Cassell on this list.

Agree - the Hampton's is a non event unless of course that means he's remained tight with Jimmy Dolan.

The jumping ship thing could be the concern (see Pat the Rat and even Van Gundy for as lauded as he is)

The point is New York is his second home already and has been for a long time. I do think that's important.

The jumping ship thing is a concern, I agree, he's a little bit of a rat when it comes to that. But it's also the only reason we might be able to hire him.

Sam Cassell is an interesting choice, but the fact that he's one of the main reasons we haven't won a championship in 52 years makes him hard for me to accept
